Great school with caring administration. Mr.Douglas was very good in relating to children that come from inner city, and the challeges they face. The present administration seems to lack experience and struggle with interpersonal relationships and building teacher moral.I am very disapointed in the new administrator that started this year.

Administration is lacking in their ability to properly manage this school.Teachers that I have spoke with, feel a lack of support from administration. Many concerns by parents are that their children don't feel excited to learn or even want to go to school. Rude non-supportive administration. I took my children out of the school next door and shortly after that same principle became principle of Barnum.

Professionalism is lacking. Teachers sadly are not interested in parents who want to get involved. Other schools sent home monthly newsletters. At another Bridgeport School, teachers gave out their phone numbers or called back when I left a message at the office. My daughter as well as my nephew were excited to go to school when they were in K-3rd. grade. In 4th as well as 5th I found the teachers very cruel in a way. My daughter often would cry and tell me she wanted to stay home.She was an A student before entering 4th grade

Such a terrible school. Kids cursing in hallways.

I definitely would recommend this school 100% because, this school has a lot of nice students there, who I have befriended in the first week of 7th grade this school year, the teachers are really nice, they understand what I am going through, and they provide a safe environment for me to learn, I feel like a family at High Horizons Magnet, I am really grateful for getting accepted into that school, they understand that I have Autism Spectrum Disorder, Attention Deficit Disorder, and they completely understand that I have social anxiety, and the school is willing to help me with everything that I have, so I can be able to feel safe and loved inside High Horizons Magnet School! Definitely recommend this school for your children!
