5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have worked around the United States as a teacher (coast to coast). Heritage Elementary School has been by far my favorite place to work. I also feel that it is the place where my best teaching (and therefore my students' best learning) took place. The students, families, and staff work really well together as a unit rather than as fragmented pieces. I am an educational doctoral candidate now and reflect on how many things this school does right (from my perspective and experience). I am forever impressed by the values and efforts put into making students feel safe, loved, supported, and challenged. In the face of enormous challenges, this school puts forth everything it can to give the best experience for students and families. 8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI went to do field experience at the school. Not only did they try to get me to substitute when I didn’t have a degree or anything yet, but when I said no they tried to get me kicked out of my education program. I am very upset about how the school handled the situation and never plan to even go near the school ever again. I hope that this never happens again to a person trying to become a teacher and hope this school will learn from their mistakes. Those who are going for field experience are NOT free substitutes for the school to utilize!
