We have attended this school since pre-k and we are excited to go back for another year. We have a kiddo with special needs, and the whole school is involved in the best way possible. The Special education team is amazing, we have been working with Mrs Watson( case Manager) and several other team members and we have been very satisfied in the involvement and the integrity they have taken to make sure that my child's needs are met and upheld all year long. the principals- Mrs. Landis and Mr. Yardley are amazing they are always greeting each student by name, they attend the Special education team meetings and have input into the curriculum that they expect their teachers to implement and they do so with the knowledge that they are indeed being implemented. I was told that the principals block certain days to observe in classrooms and have seen it happen while volunteering at the school. The Administration team in the front office is amazing and also know the students and greet them by name. This school is amazing overall Academically,emotionally, and really utilize the resources available to them to implement a safe and educational environment for their family, students and staff.

Iron Horse has been an amazing school for our youngest. The staff is engaged, welcoming, and successful. The school is one of a few I enjoy substitute teaching for as well.

The principal doesnt listen when it comes to bullying or preventing ongoing bullying. My chikd and I were unsupported with several attempts via email to principal to address bullying. Ended up being pushed out and having to relocate schools. Completely the worst experience for a child to go through feeling unheard, unseen and unsupported. Truly awful at best. Base is an absolute joke and the staff are so dang rude to parents and kids. Also very limited base slots so dont count on being allowed in.

We moved here from a state where there is no school of choice so I was very overwhelmed. I decided to give our neighborhood school a try because I am a strong advocate for public schools. I cannot say enough about the amazing experience we had at Mountain View. I have never felt such a strong sense of community and belonging. The PTO does a fantastic job working with the school and holds wonderful events and fundraising opportunities. The staff all truly care for the students and go above and beyond for them. My daughter did not qualify for speech but they still took extra time to work with her on the few areas she was weak in and now she is thriving! My daughter loves coming to school everyday and cries when she has to stay home sick because she misses her teacher. Academically there is no score for this school because state testing does not begin until 3rd grade and they are only K-2, but you can look up Northeast (their sister school down the road) who houses 3-5 and see how amazing the test scores are. We are so grateful for this school and community.

During my time at this school, I was assigned responsibilities well beyond my role, including covering ALL kindergarten library times, leading lunch announcements over the microphone, and supervising lunch/recess/hallway lines. Despite these expectations, I received little to no support from the administration.The demands of these responsibilities often conflicted with one another. My coworkers regularly expressed that the lunchroom was difficult to manage without my presence, while I was simultaneously expected to cover all kindergarten library times. This left me feeling like I was expected to be in two places at once and made it impossible to fully meet the needs of either responsibility.The principal rarely interacted with staff and visited my classroom only once every couple of months, often calling me by the wrong name. The vice principal consistently failed to follow through with student discipline and frequently required educational assistants to apologize for appropriately enforcing school expectations.Student behavior was often managed inconsistently. I was told by a kindergartener that the vice principal had given them a phone to watch TikTok. In another concerning situation, a fourth-grade female student who reported being punched in the stomach by a male classmate was allowed to decide whether her parents would be informed. Too often, it felt as though students, rather than staff, were in control.School administrators would often reprimand staff for not awarding Golden Tickets to students whenever a parent complained, even when those students had not demonstrated the appropriate behavior to earn the recognition that day. This created inconsistency in the school's behavior management system and undermined staff members' professional judgment.Instead of teaching students appropriate coping skills, conflict resolution, or self-regulation strategies, disruptive behavior was frequently rewarded with toys or playtime in the office. This approach undermined classroom expectations and made it difficult to maintain a safe, respectful learning environment.Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this school as a workplace due to the lack of administrative support, unrealistic workload expectations, inconsistent discipline practices, and overall school culture.Lastly, my child attended this school and was not consistently challenged with work that matched their abilities or academic potential.
