This school at one time use to be considered one of the top elementary schools in Montrose. New changes to the school with a new principal have significantly dropped parent perception of the school. It seems the school does not feel the need to inform parents on what happens in the school especially

This school has a zero tolerance for imaginative play on the playground. There is no tag allowed, no IMAGINARY light sabers, no IMAGINARY guns, no IMAGINARY Droids/Villians to be a hero against and are NOT allowed by the playground duty staff. I have been nothing but pleased with Cottonwood. Both of my children have thrived under the direction of teachers who truly care about their learning.

My son was 5 when he entered kindergarten and all the children were 5 and 6, appropriate ages unlike the 2009 review.
