Both of our children attended McGraw from kindergarten through sixth grade, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience. It was clear that every teacher truly loved their job and cared deeply for our daughters — they still enjoy going back to visit! McGraw did an excellent job preparing them for middle and high school, both academically and in building their self-confidence.The school provided countless opportunities for them to explore their academic interests and develop the confidence to share their learning with others. We also loved the strong sense of community, fostered through events like International Night, the spring dance, music performances, and a wide variety of after-school clubs — including running, Legos, robotics, chess, art, and band.Simply put, McGraw loved our kids — and we loved McGraw.

Went to this school when I was younger. Teachers were rude and 100% picked favorites. Gym teacher was utterly disrespectful to both me and my brother. Most teachers didn't take certain matters seriously and allowed me to be harassed almost the entire time I attended. There were students that would physically harm others, including myself and teachers overlooked it constantly. There was a time that I was being physically harassed to the point that I ended up resorting to self defense. The kid never got in trouble but I got written up for it. The school was fun at first but as I got older, it slowly got worse. I'm a junior in high-school now, and I don't imagine this school has changed much since I left. Nobody is aware of this since they aren't currently attending that school like these children are. I can only hope that kids don't go through the same treatment that I, along with many other children did.

My son has an IEP and had major behavioral challenges when we began (transfered from neighborhood school). The entire Integrated Services team, Specials, and his teacher really went above and beyond to help him adjust and catch up (much more advanced curriculum than his other PSD school - yet limits homework to 30min max a night, no weekend homework except 2-3 projects a year - he is learning about topics I didn't know existed until junior high or later). The emphasis on character helped him to recognize who he wanted to be. Over 3 years, he has made tremendous gains - academically and socially. I'm so very thankful to this community who helped him grow and continue to put energy towards his learning and success. Their ability to balance holding a belief he can do better while reinforcing small gains is unparalleled. The balanced approach of accountability and appropriate accomodations is hard to find. Dr. Kendall (principal) is an outstanding advocate for kids, staff, and parents. We drive 30-min each way - it has been very worthwhile. If you are concerned about weekend socialization - we had our son join a neighborhood scouting troop and have found most kids near us choice into FTC also. Why should you NOT choose Traut? If you aren't interested in partnering and engaging in a community whose focus is on education and character of the kids.

We have already seen one of our children thrive after several years at Johnson, and we're excited our younger son will start in the Fall. Every school in PSD is great but there is something special about the warmth and energy of this school.

My kid is in 5th grade this year at Linton and we have loved it.
