Black Rock Elementary School

Hi. I was interested to place my 6 years old child at this school. After going several times to see the school, meet the teacher and do one assessment, the school rejected my son. The stated reason was that they “didn’t have the tools to help” my son, implying he had a learning disability. We asked for feedback since all of his prior teachers had said he was just a typical, happy student, but the school did not respond. Afterwards I had other parents suggest to me that the school was discriminating selection based on religion and then I understood that this was the reason. We are Catholic so I guess we don’t follow exactly their parameters. I think that it is pathetic that a school would make admissions choices on this basis; treating children like that. They say that they are following the God’s doctrine but they are obviously discriminating based on religion; so I m glad that my son is not going to this school. I don’t recommend this school at all and I feel like it is like a sect.

You will not find a school that gives your children a better outlet of caring, exploration, and learning. We have two children attending BMM and both are as excited to go to school on the last day of the year as they are the first day. The teachers are absolutely amazing and take the extra step to work with the children. There aren't enough stars to give, I would recommend BMM to everyone!

My children have been here for 3 years now - spanning pk- 5th grade collectively. I cannot say enough good things about this incredible school and its community. They have THRIVED and love every day they get to spend inside of this building. The staff and even administration truly cares about every single student and works tirelessly to bridge the parent school staff gap, ensuring everyone feels welcome and is able to be an active participant in their child's school "world."

Terrible. My child got bullied everyday. Do not go here
