Read what parents are saying about High Plains Elementary SchoolAs a military family we move around quite a bit, in fact, this is the fourth school my daughter has attend in her five years of schooling! I have never, ever met such a dedicated staff. My kids came in slightly below average in a few subject areas and they have excelled thanks to the strategies the teachers have implemented. Their desire to work with students one-on-one or in small groups based on their needs has made all the difference. The staff is also patient and caring. They went out of their way to make our children feel cared for when my husband was deployed. The staff also puts in extra time to do fun days and activities to keep the kids engaged and welcome families on to campus. My children have never once said they didn't want to go to school! As a former elementary school teacher I know that behind the scenes of those fun family days are hours of work applying for grants and putting in time beyond the school day to make everything run smoothly. Don't let the GreatSchools rating fool you, there are great strides being made here! THANK YOU HIGH PLAINS!
Posted by a parent on 5/11/2023This is a small neighborhood school with small class sizes and caring teachers. Most of the teachers stay here year after year because they love it! The teachers are creative and innovative. The library is a beautiful newer part of the campus with lots of books and a nice makerspace. We especially love all the STEAM activities and afterschool clubs. While schools have grown and try to be trendy, HPE stays focus on important skills and strives to teach the whole child. So far we have loved this community school.
Posted by a community member on 7/29/2022High Plains Elementary is wonderful neighborhood school! My child attended the school for 3 years and had great teachers and support staff. She made brilliant progress and always enjoyed going each day. Her teachers were encouraging and there were many opportunities for extra-curricular activities such as sports club, choir, and art club which my daughter took advantage of. The school is diverse and has a great community feel to it!
Posted by a parent on 2/15/2022High Plains has been a wonderful school. I have had two students in this school and would put my kids no where else. The teachers we have had have been so amazing and helpful. The ESL program and interventionists helped my daughters get onto track when they needed it. The staff there is welcoming and encouraging and want all parents apart of the school. The sense of community is outstanding!
Posted by a parent on 2/14/2022We have been a part of the High Plains Community for the past 4 years. I wouldn't send my child anywhere else. They really do care about each and every individual child. The school has a small town feel that i have found a lot of comfort in with sending my kiddos off when he first started kindergarten. All the teachers and staff know all the kids and i always felt that my son didn't just have one teacher helping and caring for him but a whole army of teachers helping him. Volunteering in the school i have seen how dedicated and knowledgeable the reading and math interventionists are at this school along with the SSN and ESL programs. This school has a lot of diversity and a lot of students from different countries. I think it is a great experience that my son goes to school with so many different cultures and backgrounds and he is learning so much. Along with his reading, writing and math he is learning about compassion, diversity, understanding and how to become a great person. The school also has an amazing Science teacher that my son just loves.

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son was bullied multiple times and the school tried to blame him for instigating the situation. There minority populations SUCKS I’ve only seen about 3 black families. The crossing guards DO NOT do there job, always talking to families or allowing vehicles to run stop signs. There fundraising also sucks, they chose to make people donate money to a mediocre APEX physical challenge and the highest amount raised was $300. I asked if they sell cookies or chocolate and the answer was NO. Are you serious? Who wants to donate money for a kid to run around and win a ball for $70?!? To add 2 other schools shut down in the area @10am due to a safety issue and they didn’t notify us until 3pm that the school was on a lock out! But if you don’t mind all of these issues, or care about racial equality then this school is meant for you!Parent Review2y ago - Academy International Elementary School

We have fantastic teachers, warm and inviting environment and a wonderful atmosphere for kids to thrive. N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe director decided to put hands on our son in a disciplinary manner, and that is 100% unacceptable from an adult who's charged with keeping our kid safe.Parent Review4mo ago - Primrose School Of Briargate

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe school is not very inclusive towards more introverted or shy students. Teachers show favoritism towards certain students that are more popular. There was several events of bullying where the teachers just seemed to not care or intervene. The school isn’t great for kids with social differences or for kids that don’t fit the “popular” cliche. Teachers on several instances couldn’t calm the class down and the kids were loud/disrespectful. The teachers would be quite aggressive towards certain students doing one thing other students wouldn’t get in trouble for.Other Review3mo ago - Primrose School Of Cottonwood Creek
