Buffalo Ridge Elementary School

We had a very bad experience with this school. My son was 3 years old when we enrolled him in the Pre K classroom. He was on early intervention for SPD and the school was aware of the accommodations for him and still accepted him. After 2 weeks of starting he was thrown out of the school. The reason they stated was because he could not regulate himself. The class was small with 20 kids in it. It is a very crowded classroom small in space for a 3year old who has sensory needs. There were only 2 teachers in this classroom.If you have a child who has sensory needs this school is not for you. The teacher seemed pretty elderly with lots of experience and STILL she was not of any support or that they could try to switch him to an inclusive classroom. They absolutely were of no guidance and as a first time parent I was baffled and confused. I was blaming my poor son for getting thrown out but later realized this school is not capable of handling kids with different needs nor the teachers are qualified/trained. Now my son is thriving in a better school that understands his needs and accommodations.

We transferred to American Academy after a less than stellar experience at our feeder school. I think American Academy is doing a great job sending out updates and keeping parents informed of the vast amount of activities and events going on at the school - There is sometimes feedback from others that communication here isn't great, but that has never been our experience. Teachers & front office staff have been great at responding to emails and helping us out! We REALLY enjoy the ability grouping structure at AACP. It feels like our kids are getting the attention they need and the work seems to match their current levels really well. I'm seeing far greater growth! We also LOVE the full time SRO! Safety is paramount! Every teacher we have had has also been fantastic!! Can't say enough great things about this group of educators!

If I could give this school a zero I would with exception one second grade teacher, Mrs. Wilson. She was awesome. However, my children hated this school and were constantly bullied! The school and especially the principle, Mrs. Radke, did nothing to address the issues. Not only were our kids being emotionally bullied but physically as well. Mrs. Radke doesn’t inform the parents when an incident happens and I kids who are bullied are singled out. Our kids grades actually went down at this school and parents are shamed for it. We personally know of 6 families that pulled out of this school in 21-22 due to these types of issues. Not to mention, there is no security!! One of the people on our “do not pick up list” walked right in and picked up our kids. He didn’t have to show an ID or anything. We were so scared and furious. No apology was ever made and they brushed it off like it was no big deal. If you want to keep your kids safe and have a good academic background, do not send them to TYE!
