Read what parents are saying about Horizon High SchoolMy student had access to a high quality, well rounded education with support by many caring individuals at this school. I recommend it.
Posted by a parent on 3/10/2019I would rate the school a 0 out of anything. My experiences throughout my three and a half (I graduated a semester early because I hate the school.) year were horrible, I've had only 7 teachers that cared for the students (I've gone through a total of around 30 teachers). At the end of my junior year they refused me to take two AP art classes because of two reasons; the first being nobody has ever done both before, and the second being THEY believed it would be too difficult for me (they didn't know how I work, or how much art I had done at that point). Then one of the lead art teachers for NAHS refused to let me graduate with Art Honors because I wasn't in an art class that year(even though I've done 9 half credits already), but I had the other requirement of 40 art related community service hours (I have 51 and counting) and being at 80% of the meetings. I tried to work out a compromise with the principal by an attempt at an independent art study class but they refused to let me drop one of my other classes. (I am taking 9 classes right now, that class would only add another class and more stress to my plate.) I'm still going to graduate early because of the poor system the school had towards teaching and it's own students.
Posted by a student on 10/14/2018The Special Education program at this school is terrible because of the special ed gives a shit about kids and actually helping them out when they need it all they do is sit there saying they care when they could care less if your kid is helped. And of course the school does shit about stopping bullying they act like they do but they are just as bad if not worse than shadow ridge with bullying and helping kids. Though most of the General Education teachers are actually great
Posted by a student on 1/24/2018A family member of mine got violentlt attacked here during an off hour and kids took videos. The school is backing the bully. If you love your child-do not send them here. This school is disgraceful.
Posted by a community member on 9/2/2017Loved it and I had a great education. I ended up with a bachelors in Engineering and an MBA and am the owner of an engineering company in Dallas TX. So, I'd say their academics did enough for me. I was on the soccer team and we lost in the state finals and all of my buddies from high school still fly across the country to get together. 5 star experience for me.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe came to this school reluctantly since our journey within public schooling left A LOT to be desired. A new program opened up on this campus and the district thought it would be a good fit. We started the school year very hesitantly but finished the year with a renewed sense of faith in public schools. The sense of community among the staff, kids, and families is immense. The teachers truly enjoy their jobs and it reflects in the attitudes of the kiddos, including mine. The social-emotional education that they are receiving is inclusive and amazing. The special education department is top-notch. The team actively seeks to work with families in making sure that kiddos have the right support in place to be successful. It doesn't feel like a huge fight every IEP meeting and that is a breath of fresh air. We just love it here.Parent Review8mo ago - West Ridge Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagewith my enrolment in WRE for my young years, I can confidently say that THIS is how elementary is supposed to be done. at WRE. the teachers care about their kids and make a fun and hard-working environment for the kids. I have made the best memories and gained many values because of this school. the teachers are fantastic people. almost all of my most trusted adults are from WRE. I can trust the WRE will continue to teach kids correctly and happily.Other Review3mo ago - ThornCreek Christian School
