Read what parents are saying about Arkansas Elementary SchoolMy daughter can’t wait to go back to school. She just loves it! Arkansass Elementary is doing better every year..
Posted by a parent on 7/29/2018Great place to be. We are open enrolled for a reason. Arkansas is amazing and it has been for the three years we've attended.
Posted by a parent on 4/26/2018The teachers and principal is really available to the families and the kids. I have met with them as a team every 6 weeks for my little boy who has ADHD. We always find a way to make his educationa experience wonderful. I can not stay enouth about their dedication. Get involved- communicate and the resutls are extrodinary.
Posted by a parent on 4/9/2014My daughter went to this school from K-2. The first principal was horrible. They got a new principal the last year my daughter went there, and he was better as far as communication with parents and kids. There was a lot of bullying. My child constantly complained about being bullied and I personally had to step in between a child being bullied while another kid had to go get a staff member. Unfortunately, with all APS schools, there are too many student to staff ratio. Thankfully, I do not have to send my child back to this school.
Posted by a parent on 6/20/2013The teachers and staff in this building work hard to build relationships with students and parents. I've been in regular contact with my child's teacher, and the principal has always made me feel welcomed and openly listened to any concerns I've had.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageHey! Former student here. I recently had my FINAL day at Dartmouth. Moving on to middle school. Yayyy! Anyways, here are my thoughts on everything included on here.First, the learning. Some students are motivated and excited about whatever we're learning, some are completely disinterested in the learning. There is a bit of an in between, but it's pretty much you're interested, or you're disinterested. Teaching! The teachers are amazing. I've only flat out been barred from the education I needed once. And that teacher didn't really know what I was capable of doing. In my opinion, that's pretty good! Now, I'm sort of excluding the specialists. My honest opinion on the specialists isn't great. Three out of the four just sort of wait for a student to do something wrong and then get them in trouble when they do catch them doing something wrong. And it's only a couple of kids that get in trouble by them. Even when it is a thing that everyone can do sometimes. It's messed up.Social-emotional support is alright. Social workers are meh, the counselor is outstanding. The social workers just kinda tell your parents NEARLY everything you say and it feels icky.Special education is OUTSTANDING. They provide the needed support and accomodations for those with disabilities. The safety is a big yikes. This has happened multiple times. So, I was late by like 5, 10, or 15 minutes a lot. So, I'm ten minutes late. The doors are supposed to be closed by 9:05. So I get to the back of the school, what do I see? Two entry points wide open without supervision. It takes less than a minute to walk into the school. That's the scary part. Thank goodness nothing has happened.Lastly, the family engagement is pretty good. I have nothing more to say.Other Review10mo ago - Jewell Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AveragePlease do not enroll your student in this school I had a bad experience. My student got bullied here for the first 4 years. Some( 2) of the teacher’s really care about your students well being while the others do not. My student’s learning disability has really effected the way they learn. The school did not help out with my students troubles and always failed them. When my student finally got to middle school, they were behind. It took 2-3 years for them to get caught up. I know COVID has really effected the way kids learn but it was unacceptable for the way they taught mine and other student at the school. My student is doing much better and it learning a lot more. Do not put your child in this school.Parent Review1y ago - Side Creek Elementary School
