Read what parents are saying about Kindercare Learning CenterHorrible horrible horrible corporation and director. I had to pull my children immediately and my son often asks me to make sure I'm not taking him back to his old class.
Posted by a parent on 3/12/2018We removed our child from the private K in 2010 to enroll him in public school because it was clear he was receiving much less than the facility promised, what we paid for, or what he would need to succeed. Once in the public school system, the deficiencies of KinderCare s curriculum became more than obvious. While KC s kids did letter books for the entire year, the public school kids were reading, doing science, social studies and more complex math. Although my son has made great strides at overcoming our giant mistake of keeping him at KC, my son will be going into the first grade below average according to his kindergarten teacher. She only recommended he proceed because he has the intelligence to catch up eventually. I wonder everyday what kind of long-term damage has been done by my mistake of leaving him in this school as long as I did.
Posted by a parent on 8/9/2010My child attended this K, and our issue was that the school made claims that turned out to be false, and these claims were the basis of us selecting KinderCare over FREE public school. They claimed that there is 6 hours of Learning Time (directly stated on multiple flyers). I don't think that a 2.5 hour nap, snack, playground, or hand washing qualify for learning time. Also, every time I would pick up my child during the 'Kindergarten schedule' they were NEVER doing what the schedule indicated that they should be doing. My thinking was that it had to be equal or better education with 6 hours of learning time and the smaller teacher to child ratio, but once I started to make surprise visits, I questioned whether they were even receiving the instruction time of a public school. They also claimed to be aligned with public school curriculum & weren't.
Posted by a parent on 8/8/2010I am also a parent of a child previously enrolled in this same KC's Kindergarten program and agree with the first comment. My child was reported to be "exceeding expecations" on all three report cards during the year, yet tested average to below average on the non-Kindercare readiness exams. It's my responsbility as a parent to deal with that, but the comment posted below is clearly a personal attack rather than a review of the school and therefore has no merit on this site. Fact is, the facility itself is nice, and when it opened was a place that fulfilled it's promise. However it has steadily declined because of increased focus on the almighty dollar and decreased attention to the educational well-being of the children. It is unfortunate, because there are well-meaining teachers at that facility, but they have left over time due to the suffocating atmophere that has developed.
Posted by a parent on 8/7/2010if your child graduated this year from Kindercare they would not be in public school yet so how can they be severely behind. sounds like you need to spend more time studying with your child and less time writing letters and gossiping. All children learn at different rates and your child might need extra help

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis school is an outstanding beacon in the community. They are a Leader in Me Lighthouse school that teaches kids how to be a leader and to find their genius. Test scores aren't everything and I know that they are constantly working on this too with dedicated teachers who work harder than any other teachers around.Principal Review1mo ago - Ridgeview Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy 4th grader has been attending Ridgeview since Kindergarten, and has a wonderful experience here. I feel like all of the staff at this school, from his teachers, to office staff to yard duties, etc., really care about him and his progress. Each teacher has given him any support he has needed, in different ways. I'll always be grateful to his 1st grade teacher, who pushed for him to receive more speech/language services. There will always be kids with behavior problems, but generally the kids and parents are great here. I don't know about test scores or any of the other measurables that go into a rating, but our experience at Ridgeview has been phenomenal.Parent Review2y ago - Inland Leaders Charter School
