Walnut Creek Intermediate School

Going into my 4th year at this school (and 8th year for the other person witting this) starting off as a Freshman in High school. Being here has been a blessing. The teachers (who choose to stay) are wonderful to be around. The drama department is wild and fun to be apart of with stellar productions being made every year. Sports are just as great with skilled players, great teamwork and coaches who want the best for the team. Our community is honestly the best part of this school, although small it provides a sense of safety and comfort other schools don’t give. Everyone here is like a huge family one way or another. The only downfall is every year we have to replace multiple teachers which can be frustrating and difficult for everyone. Other than that I’ve enjoyed my middle school and elementary years here and cannot wait to see what high school has in store. - two kids from class of 2028

My son has been attending this school since kindergarten. The elementary program is excellent. How ever, the Jr. High program often lack consists in permeant teachers or substitute teachers, including homeroom teachers and math teachers. PE teachers often sub for math teachers, and they don't have the credentials to teach math. The use of multiple platforms for assignments and grades adds confusion and disorganization. Feedback in writing assignments is rare or completely not given hindering improvement. While there are special advanced programs for some students which there is no clear entry requirements, other students are left without the chance to advance. If your child can improve if given the support an opportunity St. Mary doesn't provide foster that type of an Enviromint which leave no room for improvement. The tutoring program is a complete joke. children with parents or family members working at St. Mary receives preferential treatment and favorite by teachers from projects to awards, even they are not graded harshly as one parent puts it. The lack of organization and favoritism in the junior high program makes it hard to recommend the school, unlike the solid elementary program they have. Furthermore, there's a notable lack of diversity, with only a small number of noon white students. Racism is evident both in the classroom dynamics and in the distribution of awards and responsibilities.

This is our third year at The Seven Hills School, and we are grateful to be part of the community. The school has not only helped our children flourish academically and socially, but it has also helped us -- as parents -- strengthen our connection with them and better understand how they learn and grow. We’ve experienced firsthand the impact of the school’s thoughtful social-emotional program, which we now know builds a critical foundation for meaningful learning. Our children are encouraged to think deeply, stay curious, and take responsibility --- both in their schoolwork and in their relationships with peers. We also love the hands-on, project-based learning experiences that help make real-world connections (and the incredible Middle School program that includes travel Japan and Europe to augment learning in the classroom). There is a lot of thought and intention that goes behind the entire program, and teachers and administrators genuinely care about the students. We hope this exposes our children to a love of life-long learning...and icing on the cake is the beautiful campus! : )

I enrolled my son in Kindergarten here at Walnut Creek Christian Academy. I appreciate the class size of 12 and my child definitely benefits from the smaller class size. My son is eager to go to school and has had great experiences in his first year here. The teachers and staff are truly amazing and informative. I highly recommend Walnut Creek Christian Academy.
