Read what parents are saying about Del Rey Elementary SchoolThe office staff is horrible. No compassion for the children. Or the parents for that matter. The principal is not very active in stopping bullying. The teachers are very good. The proctor's and crossing guards are great. But the face of the school is the office staff and they are horrible.

Posted by a community member on 2/14/2018The principal informed me that this school is only focused on students who are falling behind. I suggest to avoid enrolling your child at this school at all cost. They care nothing about a child that has the ability to succeed within them. The attitudes of the teachers and staff (including the principal) are not appropriate examples to set before any child. They are not building the ambition, leadership qualities, goal oriented, empowerment, reach for the stars type behavior that I am instilling in my children at home. They don't come close to it, they don't even support it.
Posted by a parent on 6/5/2017DEL REY ElEMENTARY is a really bad school. Some teachers help the students n make them understand there class work n homework. the principle is very mean to children n she takes there snacks away n through them in the trash. school staffs are very rude to the parent n students. my son has even came home crying because a staff always bench him n dont let him play, the staff has even threated my sons friend to stay away from my child if they do not want to get bench. ive gone to the school n talked to the principle to let her know about the problem but when the principle talks to the staff the staff always denies it n calls my son a liar n it makes my son cry. The principle never believed my son n believed the staff more . this school also never aware about the fight the kids get it. the kids always fight n bully other students n even beat them up n hurt them. I think DEL REY ELEMENTARY is by far the worst school n the staff should be fired for being rude with parents n students. the principle should be replaced by someone who understands and actually help with the problems n situations going on with there staffs n students.
Posted by a parent on 11/8/2014Last week I took my first grade son out of school permanently from DEL REY ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. The school appears great from the outside but functions very poorly on the inside. My son was labeled ADHD at the beginning of the year by his teacher because he was messy, had bad handwriting and didn't want to listen to directions and didn't want to sit in his desk. We had him tested and it turns out he is highly gifted and not ADHD at all and the problem is boredom and an apathetic teacher. The principle early on told us that our son couldn't change classes and that we had to deal only with the teacher. The school counselor were fixated on his behavior and wanted to give him fidgets and other devises to "help." Not once were his potential abilities addressed or harnessed. This school has failed up completely from the principle to the teacher to the counselor to the district TAG department. I will never send my son to another victorville public school.

It shows that they both love what they do. I believe Green Tree East Elementary Leadership Academy is so blessed to have them as teachers.Parent Review1mo ago - Irwin Academy of Performing Arts

I had 4 kids at the school two graduated from there, I still have two attending Sixth st prep school even though I live 20m away from there and still drive them to school every day. That's how much I love it ! and think my kids do great there. My daughter at second grade was reading at 5th grade level.Parent Review3y ago - Village Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAbsolutely horrible, do not send your child(ren) to this school. When my children were enrolled, there was no room for them at the other schools. My children ended up being homeschooled after attending this school. The whole staff lacks accountability, responsibility and respect. Field trips with this school are never on time, dates change with little notice, prices change, they are usually 1 to 3 hours late returning and give no notice to parents of the delay. When you question why you were not notified they place the blame on the children saying the child was supposed to call or text the parents letting then know they would be late, when the teacher is told the child does not have a cellphone the teacher responds, " that's not my problem ". Their claims are false... college ready school- false, zero tolerance for bullying-false, great staff that cares for students-false, safe environment-false.Honestly I am not sure how this school is still open and operating.Parent Review5y ago - Challenger School Of Sports And Fitness

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy joy is seeing students succeed in life. The teacher and student can work together over multiple years so I have seen my students grow from elementary through High School and beyond. I love to be one of those adults that can help students find their talents, passions, careers and help give direction.Teacher Review6y ago - Academy for Academic Excellence
