My son had an amazing first grade teacher who treated each child as an individual and was approachable and FUN! The special education class intermingled regularly with the other students and even joined on their field trip to the zoo. I thought this was pretty great, because I got to see how well all of the students knew each other. The school involved parents on a regular basis and we're pretty good at resolving conflict as long as the kids are good at communicating... Bullying/child interactions are tough to catch sometimes.Anyways, overall... We thought it was a pretty great year.

We are 5 years in at Poinsettia with three kids in attendance. We’ve had excellent teachers and great support. The PTO is very involved and engaging.That said, improvements can always be made, but they do the best with the resources offered. Class sizes are too big, but that’s not the school’s fault. I’m continually impressed by the teachers’ classroom management skills. I’d love to see dedicated art, music, and PE teachers and more full time resources on campus!

No No No---not a supportive, inclusive environment for children with special needs/learning differences. The approach for my child was seclusion. I was so burnt out by the end of our time there that every time I got a phone call from a district number I panicked. The school culture is not inclusive, my child ended up suspended when he finally reacted to constant chastising, ridicule and and antagonization by not only peers but also teachers that lacked empathy. I did not feel the IEP was followed, I deeply regret sending my child here. The experience left us disappointed in our community. My child is and has consistently has been a high performing student despite challenges, and rebuilding confidence after attending this school was an uphill battle.

My child has been at this school for the last five years and has been doing very well. The kindergarten teacher was a bit strict, but she has since retired. Every teacher we have had contact with has been great, adapting teaching styles to the various needs of the children, and really trying to understand and adjust after the children returned to in-person learning after the pandemic. There have been at least three different school counselors in the time my child has been there, making it a bit difficult to get some consistency in support, however the last two have been great and created a fun/safe environment for children to feel supported or even just take a break. Mrs. Belitski is always so cheerful and engaged with the students. School staff have always been kind and my child often talks positively about yard duty, the custodian, and cafeteria staff. The ladies in the front office are always very helpful and happy to answer any questions or provide support as needed. We also love the convenience of the on-site after school program (LPCC), which my child enjoys so much that even during breaks from school my child is excited to attend the LPCC camps.

This school is amazing! It’s very clear the teachers here are there to make sure the students succeed. All adults here are amazing and I’ve never once felt negatively here. I love this school and sad this is my last year here. This school is amazing, this school is truly the best school I’ve been to.

I have had 3 children attend and graduate from Citrus Glen. The teachers and administrators are wonderful and go above and beyond. One of my kids needed special support and the school was so accommodating and made a huge difference. My children are all now in high school and successful in AP level classes. I attribute their strong foundation to the excellent experience they had in elementary school that allowed them to really progess in academics. Overall, my children and I loved this school and can't say enough wonderful things!!
