8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMary Farmar Elementary does an excellent job of keeping families informed and involved. Communication is consistent, clear, and supportive, which makes it easy for parents to stay connected to what’s happening at school. The school truly feels like a community. families are welcomed and encouraged to participate in events and activities, which creates a strong sense of belonging. The kids love coming to school every day, and it’s clear why. The teachers are caring, approachable, and really focus on the whole child, not just academics. They pay attention to student development, encourage growth, and support each child’s unique needs. You can tell the staff genuinely want the students to succeed and feel happy at school.Parent Review9mo ago13 Reviews - Matthew Turner Elementary School

9/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe moved from Concord due the poor schools in the area. Matthew Turner is a 180 in comparison. My daughter absolutely loves the school, teachers, staff and PTA. Everyone goes up and beyond to give kids great experiences on a daily basis. I’ve even known people to drive from Orinda to bring their children here. Highly recommend!Parent Review9mo ago17 Reviews - Joe Henderson Elementary School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe enrolled our child in the program because we value Spanish and wanted him to be exposed to an additional language at an early age. The school indicated that instruction would be delivered in a mix of English and Spanish. However, our child’s experience did not reflect that description. He reported that subjects such as math and science were taught solely in Spanish, which made it difficult for him to follow the lessons. As a result, he struggled to understand what was expected of him throughout the day. For example, he did not eat lunch because he did not recognize when it was lunchtime, and there did not appear to be sufficient support to ensure he understood basic routines. This suggests a gap between the school’s stated approach and the actual classroom experience.Clear communication about the language of instruction is important so families can make informed decisions. If the program is primarily conducted in one language, it would be helpful for the school to present that accurately and transparently. As you can imagine, My kid's future is not to be taken lightly; I immediately transfered him after one day there.Parent Review2mo ago6 Reviews - Steffan Manor Elementary School
