Read what parents are saying about Jean Callison Elementary SchoolMy children have been going here a few years now & I am happy with the teachers. I am however, not impressed with some staff. Several yard duties(?) clearly do not enjoy their jobs or parents. Even with an intentional warm greeting, I am met with no acknowledgement. Just so rude in any situation. The principal isn’t of much help either & will likely say anything to cover herself or make herself look better. As a whole, we felt bullied into not reporting an incident that occurred on campus, which we regret now. There has been saftey concerns that have more or less been addressed. Other parents have been helpful navigating this school.Lastly, if it wasn’t for a handful of some incredible teachers we would have left immediately. Every year we apply for a transfer…
Posted by a parent on 1/24/2023Gotta give credit when credit is due. Although I never heard from the leadership re my complaints. They subtly resolved it and I did see changes. I’d go w that. Hopefully, more for the best. I’m just a momma bear who wants what’s best for her child :))
Posted by a parent on 3/22/2022My child has been enrolled at Callison since kindergarten, currently in 3rd grade. I have been pleased with the teachers, staff and curriculum. The principal, Mrs. Reed is the best of the best, going above and beyond for her students and parents alike. Neighborhood is very friendly and safe. Many kids walk and bike to school and if my child were a bit older, she would as well. I'm happy my child has had the opportunity to attend such an excellent school where the teachers are truly invested in growing their students.

My children attended from preschool through high school, and my grandchildren began in preschool and are now in grades 4 and 6 at VCS. We started the children here for the Christian education and strong academics, but through the years have found the relationship between the staff and the students and families to be an unexpected blessing. At times when my own children were having a rough patch, their teachers prayed with them, encouraged them, and supported them through it. The academics are a strong foundation leading each of my children to be successful in college pursuits and advanced degrees. Growing up at VCS my children developed strong friendships and enduring relationships through the sports and social activities at school. As a parent I appreciated the preparation for academics college readiness as well as the extra offerings in music, the arts, and humanities. It is a joy to see the teaching of VCS poured into our family's second generation.Parent Review4mo ago
