NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI have had the greatest experience at Hickory Tree School. Both my boys attended the school starting in pre-k and my oldest finished as a 5th grader (my youngest will finish 5th grade this year). The teachers are wonderful and get to know the students and the family. They teach good manners and social skills and their educational program had my oldest son ahead of everyone (especially math) when he entered 6th grade. I am so grateful to the school and the staff. Staff is very unprofessional and does not know how to handle certain situations when it comes to the students. The principle is very unprofessional, unresponsive, does not meet the need of the students and overall is never present on campus. The school does not provide much for the students except mediocre education. Ive had to pull my children out of the school due to bullying, I've spoken with the principle multiple times and the bullying had still continued. NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageIve had three children attend FLS. My first two were fine. But they fired thenprofessional seasoned principal. Then made the inexperienced first grade teacher the principal. She, the current principal and leadership lacks the experience and education to lead the school in its next chapter. This school also lacks instructor diversity. The school is led by all women that previously attended the school and now work there. Their children get a discounted tuition and preferential treatment. Each time a male teacher is hired he only last a semester because the women run them away Currently there are two male teachers. There is only one PE teacher and its female that a friend of the leadership team. Consequently they all live in a bubble and other their children get the resources to be successful. The academic curriculum is declining and outdated because the principal refuses to implement curriculum to meet the technology and AI curriculum. There is only one computer teacher and the students meet once a week. They lack an excellent foreign language, music and arts instructors.
