Read what parents are saying about Arroyo Elementary SchoolMy family has had a great experience at Arroyo. I chose this school for several reasons. I was moving my children from a language immersion program in another city and wanted them to be close to our home, but still exposed to other languages. It has not disappointed me. My children are exposed to 4 different languages throughout the year in class and at the after school clubs that are provided. It is a small school and my children do not get lost in the crowd and are well supported by teachers and staff. Staff are quick to provide extra support when needed, whether it is academic or emotional.
Posted by a parent on 7/13/2020I enrolled my child at this school from another school in Simi Valley which was more focused on test results and was high-pressure. Arroyo has been a great school with a lot individual help and attention to my child. I was wary only because of ratings but a lot of information in statistics can be incorrect. My child has been excelling and finding a lot of confidence in himself with great teachers and wonderful leadership. It is not about competition here-- it's about real learning.
Posted by a parent on 5/14/2020This school is great and has a very friendly/family type of environment. I think the reason it appears that this school may not do well in some aspects are because there are issues with english as a second language which will greatly affect standardized testing scores/averages (obviously). All of the elementary schools in Simi use the exact same curriculum, and other schools have high performance because the high performing students (with high parent involvement) are concentrated at those schools. I pulled my child out of one of Simi's fundamental schools to come to Arroyo, and my child has been excelling ever since.

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI love Madera Elementary School! My older daughter graduated from Madera and I currently have a 5th grader and next year a kindergartener will be starting! The principal is amazing and knows all of the kid's names and is genuinely concerned about the welfare of all students. There is also a drama club that is free for the students! The PTA is awesome and very involved. I always recommend Madera to parents looking for a great school!Parent Review2y ago - California Virtual Academy @ San Mateo School

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe decided to give online school a chance for my daughter who just started High School. She's always been a responsible student. She's thriving and loved it so far! The communication between parent and teachers in my opinion is efficient. Not too much with time flexibility, cause like a brick and mortar school students need to be present on all live online classes.Parent Review7mo ago - California Virtual Academy @ Sonoma School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter is in her 10th year with CAVA. I feel she really benefited from starting in kindergarten with CAVA. Most important to me is her safety. She thinks school is great! I want her to enjoy learning and to see her education processes as positive and beneficial for her. She is very challenged by the awesome curriculum provided by K-12. Over the years I have researched other schools and other curricula and I have yet to come across a better package than K-12. We started mapping out her college plans in 8th grade with support and information provided by CAVA. She's involved in fun extra-curricular clubs with other CAVA students. She enjoys meeting and hanging out with other CAVA students at routine "outings" provided by CAVA and supervised by CAVA Teachers. My daughter joined the National Junior Honor Society in 6th grade. I am more involved and have a better understanding of my daughter's abilities and potential because of her attendance at CAVA. Her state testing scores are great. The first time she took the State Science Test, she scored super high. CAVA offers Science from 1st grade on. I just can't say enough about how happy I am that my daughter attends CAVA - Sonoma. I have 7 other children, all grown. The older kids all went to public schools; brick and mortar. Two went to a K-8 Charter School for a few years but graduated from the local high schools. I wish they all could have gone to CAVA.Parent Review4y ago - La Petite Academy
