Episcopal Day School of St. Matthew is a wonderful school. The community is welcoming and the academics, activities, and support for each child all work really well together so the students are challenged, grow, build healthy habits, have fun, etc... It's a well rounded program. Our son went there and is now in high school. He was well prepared for high school, and is pursuing some of the activities he started at Episcopal Day. He loved going there and we loved seeing him grow and be happy there.

We have had three children attend Episcopal Day School. For different reasons, the school has been perfect for each of them. The school is intentional in creating leadership opportunities for each grade that help even the shyest children grow into confident, compassionate young adults when they graduate 8th grade. We feel blessed to be part of a caring environment too that supports each other in times of need. We appreciate the adults that surround our children in difficult world times too. The school is great at supporting different learning styles too and truly meets students where they are at providing both enrichment and scaffolding as needed.

Our daughter attended pre-k and now is in kindergarten and we have been very happy with the quality of education and the overall community. The focus is on the whole child and the building of their character. While we are currently transitioning from one Head of School to another, leadership has been outstanding and there is strong engagement with the parents and sincerely getting to know each one. We particularly like the presence of Specialist teachers who teach art, spanish, religion, PE and music. Religion helps with the development of the child's values and establishment of a moral compassion, but also helps to expose our child to many different religions celebrated and acknowledged within the school. Note that this cannot be compared with a school for the "gifted", but if you are looking to raise your child to be well rounded and a strong, compassionate leader with a love for learning, this is for you.

This school has been excellent for my son. There is a lot of emphasis on character building and values, and the kids leave the school pretty well adjusted. The teacher parent partnership is solid, and helps deal with anything that may crop up. Like a few other reviews have noted, if your kid is falling behind, the school has a ton of resources to help with bringing them up to speed. However, if your kid is doing better than his/her peers, we haven’t really seen any programs to challenge them further. Overall we love the school and who my son is becoming while studying here

Wonderful community, caring and engaged teachers, highly accessible administration and an amazing new head of school. The commitment to providing a positive in-person and distancing learning experience during the pandemic has been A+.
