Huntington Middle School is a great school. Inside the classroom, teachers are very constructive and helpful, and always love watching their students learn and grow. Many take time to discuss important issues in the world and/or incorporate them into the lesson. That is a very engaging way to make students more aware of what is happening around them. The Special ED teachers are very kind and supportive. I know because I have many Special ED friends, and play with them often. Depending on how fast you learn, homework is not a problem. Teachers give enough time to do most of the day’s homework in class, leaving more time to do extracurriculars! Outside the classroom, students are actively encouraged to try new activities and make new friends. Bullying is not a big problem at Huntington Middle School, and any issues end with a chat with the vice principal or the principal himself, and an adequate punishment. There are many clubs and activities to choose from, so students can do things they’re interested in with people of the same interest! Overall, Hunting Middle School is an amazing middle school. The environment is friendly and supportive inside the classroom and out.

There are some great teachers, but many ineffective ones who do not teach anything at all. Nothing is done to deal with these teachers or help their students. Leadership is not very effective. Although some school events are arranged, actual problems are rarely addressed. The only skills this school helps students develop are how to ignore big problems, pretend mental health is just not a thing that exists, and how to prioritize grades and homework above everything else in their life. Although I am not a special ed student, I have seen some great staff members helping people with learning differences; however, I have also seen staff complain about having to "deal with the crazies" (referring to students with learning differences). Bullying is not dealt with at all, as far as I've seen. Mental health is not prioritized. Students are shamed and penalized for having mental health issues. At most, we get a few videos shaming us for not being able to somehow fix our brains. Not only has this school caused me to ignore my mental health for grades, it's also made my mental health issues much worse. Stress from school lately has caused me to need medication for depression and anxiety. The school's image is put above all else. They put a lot of students in classes too advanced for them after missing quality learning for a few months thanks to covid just to keep up their image and keep parents happy. This school may get high rankings, but it comes at the cost of students' sanity.

The teachers are encouraging and are definitely fulfilling their duties. Most of the students try so hard in school that the environment can get kind of competitive.

This school is the best. The music department is phenomenal, the teachers are outstanding, the students are wonderful and caring, and last but not least, the administration department are very helpful and awesome!
