Posted by a parent on 8/15/2018I just wanted to take a moment to appreciate the hire of Mr Arturo Lozano for 5th grade. Whether it is taking extra classes before hours for math students preparing for an external Math Contest (picked by him), or taking extra classes after hours for students who are struggling and preparing them for middle school, or proposing students for National Leadership Forum, or recommending books to parents on kids or suggesting summer courses to get the students engaged more…he is just out of this world and much different than any of the other teachers that I have seen in the past. This is no knock on any of the other teachers as they are all excellent but its just that Mr. Lozano brings a totally different variety to the school and his ability to think out of the box and beyond just the curriculum is what I love. But even if you forget everything I mention above, the thing I love the most about him is his communication. There are no questions that he doesn’t answer on time, he talks to you whenever you just pop into a class for a quick chat, he gives feedback and he just loves his work.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageSent our son here for a few years. It’s great if: you’re white, you want your kids to have an education akin to what we received 30+ years ago, you love cliques and cliquey groups, you’re averse to any kind of change or advancement, you believe you’re a good person based on the fact that you walk into a church every week, you act horribly toward others but then justify it based on previous point, you like to live in a bubble that excludes the rest of society, you want a school that allows bullies to continue as though nothing happened, and you want a principal who does little to get to know the students and doesn’t respond to emails.Parent Review11mo ago - Almaden Country Day School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur son will graduate from Almaden Country Day School (ACDS) this year after being a student there for 10 years. We LOVE this school so much and it feels like family to us. When we joined the school ten years ago, we immediately felt welcomed and at home. The community in the school is amazing, the teachers are outstanding and the academics and enrichments are remarkable. When our son started junior kindergarten at ACDS, he was a super shy and introverted child, at ACDS he blossomed into a confident, kind and social young man. He enjoys going to school every day and never said one time, that he didn’t want to go to school. When you are at school and see all the kids, they all look genuinely happy to be there. Every teacher is very dedicated and helps the kids thrive at their own level. Our son loves math and he was able to move from the regular math class up to compacted math and then to accelerated math in middle school. The enrichment program helped our son discover new talents and hobbies and drama class in elementary school helped him overcome his anxiety for public speaking and now he is very confident in speaking in front of a large group. The athletic program was another amazing thing, that our son loved. He participated in almost all the offered sports, like basketball, track and field and flag football. The coaches are very dedicated and help the kids excel in sports.Parent Review2mo ago - Almaden Preparatory School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe have 2 kids who have been going to Champion School since the age of 3. We have been through multiple locations of the school and more recently through the online school. Champion School is second to none when it comes to academics. They have a system that focuses on this while reducing the overall load on the student and parents.Champion's online school has been a life saver during the pandemic and continues to help save a lot of time for both students and the parents.Overall, in our experience of 8+ years, Champion gets an A+. If you need your children to be challenged academically without a lot of workload, this is the place to be.Parent Review9mo ago - Champion School
