George Mayne Elementary School

My son attended this school since kinder throughout 6th garde. Teachers there have been teaching for decades and are old , do not have the patience and passion to teach any more . The school facility is old and the principal Olmos lacks on supporting the students she canceled 6th grade promotion without a reason which is not fair to them after so many yrs on this school. This school should be redone with more competent staff who trive for kids education.

This a great school. My son goes to this school fo 4 years. The teachers on 4 and 5th grade are awsome. My son loves this school. They can work on the family engagement more.

My child didn’t know English before we got to the United States and since she entered 2nd grade her teacher helped her and even offered after school sessions to help her with her English reading and pronunciation. In third grade her teacher was amazing and super nice they thought her so much about math and language. I also like that they incorporated a lot of fun games for math and also the teacher concentrated on Arts like painting and Acting. My child’s class actually recreated a show called A Christmas Carol not the classic story but a story about an elf named Carol. Her fourth grade teacher also was amazing she thought her students a lot about science they even did a project researching on Don Edward’s reserve about investigating a square they had every season so they went in 4 different field trips plus many others. Then fifth grade it has been harder because of the distance learning but my child’s teacher has been so amazing how they have managed the situation. They are one of the strictest teachers but all the homework is worth it for many of my child’s classmate they hadn’t done any of the work at the beginning and now they are A+ students but like the fifth grade teacher said no student is perfect they all have knowledge in them.Former Parent of Student

My child's Kindergarten teacher last year was amazing! So grateful for the love and care she gave my daughter. The principle was amazing too! We are excited for this new school year!

My childs 2nd grade teaches needs to retire since she no longer has a passion for teaching.the homework is not consistently passed down to students correctly and the teacher will not let come back to get find out what the assingment was even if it's friday and the work due on tuesday.i reported the issue to the last principal but she left her position before she followed up with us.several time she has cornered our child in front of us looked at him in the eye while raising her voice and point at him saying i know told you to this but you did something else ,of course he's going to agree when you corner him and put him in that situation where he has no way out when confronted by the teacher in public of other students and parents .we fear reaching out to the district due to fear of retaliation of her targeting and failing our child hope fully some reads this and reaches out us on how to go about this properly.
