Posted by a community member on 3/6/2020It is not a good school. My son is getting great grades but isn't learning anything at all. There are so many things my son should have learned by now and hasn't because most of the teachers are lazy. Only a couple of the teachers communicated with me about my son's problems. He rarely brings any homework home and many times they watch movies in the classroom (not educational films). So if you don't care if your kid learns anything and still gets good grades, then this is the school to be. Obviously this school doesn't care about the students only about passing them. I do have to add Mr. Lozada is a great teacher, but that's it.

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageAs student who attended at Ocean View Hills School i would not recommend having your child as a student here. I've seen and experienced, along with many students, the trauma that came from staff and teachers. I was in Special Education transmitting to Regular Education and the disrespect actions and comment made from teachers impacted me. Being aware I faced challenges I was bullied, humiliated, and refused from being part of my peers during lectures and assignments. When I was young I though the behavior was normal, but now as i got older it came to my realization that the events and behaviors vie witness was absolutely inhumane. From seeing first hand look of teachers screaming at students, who are tapping their pencil due to nervousness or being anxious, to having teachers coming up to my mother to grant her permission to hit my brother if he is "not listening". This is a behavior that myself & many past students have shared equal relations with while attending at Ocean view Hills School.Parent Review3y ago - Finney (Myrtle S.) Elementary School

The students in his class are aware of his behaviors and have been SO GREAT in helping him. The teachers and staff have all been wonderful in observing and seeing his needs are met, and are very encouraging. Academically, the kids are doing well, which is a reflection upon their teachers. They are invested in their students and go out of their way to ensure your child knows the material. As far as I know, bullying is dealt with accordingly.Parent Review2y ago
