Posted by a community member on 4/19/2017We placed out son at RPA his 7th grade year and was adamantly against it being it was not his home school. He has become a part of the fabric of this school and has prospered in the fantastic band program. He loves most of the teachers and the ones he doesn't it's because they are challenging him and making him develop skills that are outside his comfort zone. As a parent I would like to see meetings after house so I can attend (2:30 parent counsel meetings are a joke). But teachers are very accessible by text and email and are genuinely concerned with the education of your child. Overall this school has exceeded our expectations and will be returning next year.
Posted by a parent on 1/28/2017I LOVE THIS SCHOOL IVE BEEN THERE SINCE 4TH GRADE AND NOW IM IN 7TH CANT WAIT TO GO TO 8TH GRADE THERE AND THEN GRADUATE AND ON MY WAY TO HIGH SCHOOL YAY!!!
Posted by a community member on 3/14/2015I hate this school. My mom removed me because she had a disagreement with princlple, Ms. Bishop. She basically told me I wasn't good enough because she called me dirt. She shouldn't be calling kids dirt. This school is horrible in many other ways too. Like the no backpack rule. We are not allowed to bring backpacks because of weapons. But that makes no sense. People can put weapons in their pocket, folder, lunch pal. They like to see us suffer when we have to carry our folders and our instrument Fromm class to class. Sometimes people's stuff fall on the ground and papers go flying everywhere all because we can't have backpacks and we have to carry a lot of stuff. Don't let your child attdend this school. Just don't.
Posted by a community member on 1/26/2014My daughter attended Rodriguez Prep Academy and had an exceptional experience and education. She had to take band in 7th grade which I believe some art is critical in education in middle school. Then she got involved in Leadership, Odyssey of the mind, Softball and had many opportunities for roller skating parties, college trips etc... Great school.

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy daughter ( keep in minds how she is a girl) and not a trouble maker at all , she is mixed races white / Hispanic 4th grader. I won’t mention names but during parent conference week, her teacher who she really liked., just quit out of nowhere before I had my parent teacher conference.. I looked forward to meeting with her to discuss disciplinary action status regarding my daughter who has gotten punched in the stomach by a male classmate and another male classmate that spit at her for being white after the students were assigned another book about slavery for the 6th time emphasizing the cruelty and brutality of white people being their “owners” never including full accurate history of how the slaves were initially sold in Africa.. by their own African people selling them for cheap in large quantities to be boarded onto ships and resold. They are teaching kids to be angry with other kids causing race wars and bulllying instead of promoting harmony and equality amongst students.Parent Review1y ago - Belvedere Elementary School

You can trust that they will get things taken care of. The teachers and staff are patient, kind, and want the best for the students. 3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWhen my daughter first started this school her teacher was awful. She assigned a ton of homework (5 pages a day) for a 1st grader. My son would literally come home crying because he had so much homework. My child would come home constantly telling me stories about how mean his teacher was to the WHOLE class. However, once I brought this issue up to the Principle and Sectary they took swift action. Fast forward to now my child is in the second grade and his teacher is wonderful!! My child is actually excelling ever since he has been in Mrs. A's class. So, I've had my ups and downs with this school, but I can say with confidence that they are consistently trying to improve. Ms. Lam also goes on and above for our children, I feel like my child is finally academically where he needs to be.
