Read what parents are saying about St Francis Of Assisi Elementary SchoolOur family has been with the school for over 10 years, we’ve had an amazing experience and we still are having an amazing experience Even with distant learning. Being parents of students that have graduated and students that still attend the teachers the staff the families are all amazing and extremely helpful. I strongly recommend the St. Francis of Assisi Elementary school. We feel extremely blessed and fortunate to be a part of this school and community. -JASullivan
Posted by a parent on 1/10/2021Exceptional. I interviewed many Catholic schools before we decided we belong at St. Francis Elementary. The school strikes a perfect balance between strong academics and keep the kids grounded. The feeling when you walk onto the campus is one of warmth and enthusiasm. I am lucky to be part of this wonderful school community.
Posted by a parent on 12/6/2019Things have changed dramatically in the last 3 or 4 years. Poor communication between staff and parents, no follow ups. Children are overwhelmed with homework and tests and material is not review appropriately in class. When teachers fall behind then children are burden with too much even weekends. School not willing to work with parents. Many parents are removing their kids from the school.
Posted by a parent on 6/3/2016St. Francis Elementary is a wonderful place for children to learn. The teachers are excellent. The 6th grade teacher earned her Ph.D - and no she did not ask the kids to address her as "Doctor XXXX". A very warm, nurturing environment that pushes the students academically but somehow manages not to stress them out while doing so. The principal and her staff are wonderful. Don't assume that all Catholic elementary schools in Sacramento are the same, because I investigated several and found that they are not. This is a very special place and you can feel secure in your decision to send your child to school here. The 8th graders consistently move on to their "first choice" high schools very well prepared. St. Francis has a very diverse student body.
Posted by a parent on 9/21/2012One of the best schools hands down. We moved from Davis where it seemed like we couldn't get a school that cared about students at all. I know, ironic right? We came to this school a bit skeptical. We've been there for about 4 years and it's been great. Stephanie Pierson is the office manager and I personally think the school would fall down without her. 99% of the staff is amazing with an occassional member I could do without. The only negative thing I can say is that the principle change from last year to this year has been the difference. Last years principal (Stephanie Powers) was amazing. I've never seen a princaipal who loved the children so much, definitely not in any public shcools I ever went to. This year the new principal seems slightly unfriendly and more into the business side of the school instead of the atmosphere. Luckily for me I don't have to deal with her very often. Besides that, this school is a great match for almost any child.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI worked here for 8 months as the 1st grade assistant teacher and the kinder enrichment program leader. My experience was nothing but enjoyable as the staff and management were very kind, supportive, respectful, and professional. Materials were plentiful for teachers and the school would order anything else needed for the class. There was lots of room for growth/promotion within the school for myself and others. Management is flexible with time off, offers good benefits, and offers plenty of support and encouragement.Teacher Review1y ago - Sacred Heart Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI would give this school 0 stars in all categories if I could. What you’re reading in the negative reviews is sadly true. First, the lower grade teachers are very young and highly inexperienced; they simply do not have the skill set to manage these kids - especially if you do not have a child that perfectly fits the mold. HIGH turnover. Classes are big, loud, and teachers have little control over the chaos. Unless your child is perfectly compliant and willing to sit in silence with their hands clasped the entire day, you may get by. ZERO resources and/or willingness to support a child with learning differences - they are deemed a disruption to the classroom and will be forced out. There is no school counselor, no music, no regular foreign language, and the art program is laughable. The school puts all of their energy and effort into school fundraisers, and next to zero towards building a stronger academic program or resources for the kids. LOOK ELSEWHERE!!!Parent Review3w ago
