Rialto district really needs to get involved with providing more aids to the teachers with autistic kids. there are too many kids for 1 teacher and 1 aid, it's ridiculous. my son lost a whole year because they had no teacher. And it seems is not going to be a good year again!

This school is the best. I know a lot of people look at the test scores, but I don't care about that test. It means nothing to me. I am far more interested in the daily culture of the school. How is my son treated? Is he safe? Is he learning? Is he academically where he's supposed to be at? School is a second home for children and it should have an amazing culture with a positive learning environment. I want my child to have an amazing educational experience and Preston delivers. I only have three real complaints and there more related to stupid district policies and the way the district spends money. We don't get to celebrate Halloween and there isn't a bathroom inside the TK classroom. We also aren't allowed to bring outside food to school. That means we miss out on a lot of fun teachable moments like celebrating and talking about the first Thanksgiving, Halloween parties, Valentines parties and end of the year parties. Love the school, but hate the district.

All students with disabilities are included in all activities and curriculum at the school site. With the importance of inclusion, Students attend regular education classes daily, students have performed in our yearly drama productions, attend band where they play various instruments, art classes are taught every week to each grade level, all students are recognized every Friday during our Friday Dance and Recognition Party, and our students with disabilities are recognized every trimester for academic excellence with the rest of the school population. Henry Elementary VAPA school also includes our Deaf and Hard of Hearing Students (teacher Jackie Long) which are assigned to our campus even though they are directly overseen by the County of San Bernardino School District. These students are Henry Hawks and are included in all of the school activities that have been listed. Our school site also has an after school program called Think Together. This program is led by Nicolette Wilson, Site Coordinator. All students are able to join the program.

The staff is friendly and approachable, but the school is definitely overcrowded and has too many children enrolled versus other schools in this district. Student to teacher ratio is too high for efficient learning and teaching.

The new principal is trying to incorporate more events for parents to be included, very nice to have that option. The whole school attendance is terrible and honestly I see why, my child is sick every other week. I usually keep her home until she’s healed but she gets sick within the week AGAIN. I’m frustrated with this because they’re aware each time and it doesn’t seem like there’s any cleaning or sanitizing after hours going on. My child’s DR recommends a new school because of this and I’m going to do just that

One minute late and my son is being threatened to be expelled. I have to show up to a 30 minute meeting and explain how being one minute late is unexcusable.. WHEN I WAS IN ELEMENTARY IF YOU WERE ANYTHING LESS THAN HALF A DAY LATE YOU GO RO SATURDAY SCHOOL..THEY DONT OFFER HERE. LOL WHERES THE SOLUTION??
