We are in our second year at Woodland School, and feel incredibly fortunate to have discovered this gem of a school. At the ECE level, the programs are highly geared towards social-emotional learning, but they meet kids where they are in their interests and really tailor the curriculum to where the kids are showing interest in a play-based environment. If they're interested in some worms on the playground during recess, they'll setup an entire curriculum around composting, how worms are part of the environmental lifecycle, etc. If the kids are interested in some of the plants in the garden, they'll do a class on plant biology and agriculture.Additionally, the parent community is incredibly involved and friendly. Parents will regularly volunteer to setup a lesson plan on Diwali, or robotics, or any range of topics. The tight-knit community means that there is a lot of openness in sharing parenting tips, experiences, and feedback. The school is *incredibly* receptive to feedback.

An amazing community of students and families, this school provides an elementary education, with a very hands-on and experiential approach. Students focus on real world skills and inquiry through in-depth projects, service opportunities, field experiences, and outdoor ed. You've got to see it for yourself!
