my son went here for a year due to being over drafted. he was lucky then because the school he has to go to now with in our residential area is by far the worst. foothill has teacher or at least 1 that really care and a motivated teachers that motivates the parents and the student is no longer a

Posted by a parent on 9/10/2011I changed my son to Foothill to be in the Dual Immersion Program and so far I'm happy with the school. Yes there needs to be more parents involved in activities.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy son comes home and cries while doing homework. He's changed dramatically since starting school here. Hes not the happy, curious, and attentive little boy I raised anymore.He gets picked on for being a minority. He told me he wants to dye his hair black because he thinks his looks like a baby's hair. I found out the other students exclude him for being different and dont play with him. He told me some kids stopped talking his language when he tried to join them at tetherball.Parents aren't allowed on school property or allowed to check on how the school operates during school hours. Which is appalling.I put a audio recorder in my sons school bag.Adults at constantly yelling at students and imposing mass punishments on all students for the actions of some.Some students were not listening or following orders to stop screaming and yelling during lunch time while eating. The adults only response was.to yell louder and eventually punish the whole grade by taking away their recess. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy experience and my kid's experience with Heights Elementary School goes back 5 years from today. The school is safe! the school does teach the kids. My kid was struggling with reading, but I do see a lot of improvement and they work with the kids. The teachers have all been friendly and caring. Safety is not a high priority, and bullying is acceptable. IEP’s are not followed and are often in violation.
