Read what parents are saying about Beach Elementary SchoolWe have very bright kids and their experience at this school was not pleasant. The school didn't meet their academic needs. They were on their own if they needed extra challenges. Teachers can be good or bad, depends on your luck. One of our kids' teacher didn't care about students at all; she just wanted easy job. The school somewhat discriminated against minority. The good thing about this school was parent involvement which made the community good. If your kids are very bright, non-Caucasian and the parents are not close to the school administration, good luck with your adventure.
Posted by a parent on 4/27/2020Our two daughters truly loved their experiences at Beach Elementary. The school is build around a strong core of dedicated and talented educators with detailed knowledge of current pedagogy surrounding literacy. Parent involvement is a key element to the school's success with adult volunteers offering a variety of support at all grade levels. These two elements compensate for a lack of leadership and vision from the current administration. Echoing a comment from another posting, the principal avoids conflict by telling parents what they want to hear. Unfortunately, she failed to follow through on promises on several occasions. However, despite the current principal's shortcomings and inability to articulate a genuine vision beyond test scores, test scores and test scores the staff and families more than make up for her weaknesses. Your children will be in very good hands.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI came on to Great Schools to give accolades and share some of the wonderful experiences that I’ve had at Saint Leo Great School after being a parent for almost two decades. My journey began at Saint Leo’s with my eldest daughter who is currently in her third year of college, I also have my youngest daughter who is in middle school. I figured now is the time when parents are searching for good schools to send their children to. My goal is to make sure they know what an awesome School Saint Leo is.If you're looking for a school where your child will excel academically, emotionally, and socially, Saint Leo’s is the place. Saint Leo’s offers an outstanding faith-based community of parents, students, teachers, and faculty members, you will feel it the moment you set foot on campus. The older students are very caring of the younger ones and the teachers and administration are like family. The dedication and time that the teachers pour into their students and education are honorable, as shown by the many years they have chosen to stay and maintain continuity for the children who attend. Let me not forget to mention that Saint Leo’s offers a plethora of enrichment programs, from Music & Choir classes, art & robotics workshops, praise dance, and summer camps, also an exceptionally successful athletic program where every student is able to join, no matter what their skill level is.Creating a good reliable foundation for my daughters is important to me. Being able to send my girls to Saint Leo’s for all these years is a true blessing. I’ve enjoyed being a parent here and love all of the beautiful long-lasting relationships my children and I have made with other families. It’s been heart-warming to watch many kids over the years from pre-k ( yes they have a pre-k program too!) to 8th gr. move on to some of the best high schools in the bay area. Moreover, because of the close niche community, I’ve also been able to see the same children attend prestigious colleges and universities such as Howard, Spelman, UCLA, Yale, and Cal Berkeley just to name a few. For any child to succeed, it can’t be one-sided, it takes a village to raise a child. Mrs. Simril the principal has done an excellent job leading the school, she’s very knowledgeable and maintains a high level of professionalism, and so does the administrative team. Overall, Saint Leo’s is a great school. The success of the school has already been written and the school continues to do very well in all aspects.Parent Review1y ago
