Read what parents are saying about Sierra Vista Elementary SchoolFrom the first time I ever stepped foot inside that school I saw nothing but rude staff members. The way they speak to the students upsets me. They talk down to a student instead of uplifting today. I was there picking up my grandchildren one of the teachers thought I was a student and she was yelling at me when she realized that I was not a student she says “oh I’m sorry I thought you were student. “. I did turn around and tell her thet…that was not how she should be speaking to any student… she said nothing back, turned around and then begins speaking to other students asking them to go behind the red line at the front of the school. This was not the first time I had experienced this vice principal was doing the same thing on the second day of school to other students. She thought I was a student as I was crossing and again I told her that that is not how she should be speaking to any student again nothing was said back to me…. The principal she’s very nice. She seems to be understanding but nothing changes direct traffic trying to keep it in order but it’s very frustrating because everybody is telling you different things they all give different direction…. The front desk lady is.rude … every single time that I go to that school I end up telling somebody how rude they are, or I will talk back to defend myself and my grandchildren. I don’t want my grandchildren to be spoken to like that my grandson, kindergarten teacher I believe she picks on him every day. There’s something said almost every day … she says ….he did this or he did that and in front of her, he pretty much tells her she’s not telling the truth…he is always telling me I didn’t do it like that… I didn’t do that, There’s no patience there at that school . This elementary school is not like a normal elementary school… my grandkids are so confused, and if it was up to me, I would pull them out of that school…

Posted by a parent on 11/13/2017My son attended this school for about 2 months and I had to move him from schools. He wasn't getting the help he needed, the teacher was very impatient with him and did not want to help him. I tried going in to observe what was going on and she did not let me. She told me that she had 24 other students to help and that she wasn't going to be holding my sons hand whenever he couldn't keep up with the class. He never went to preschool and she told me that was going to be a big problem. Isn't she a teacher to help out students? I went in for a parent conference with her and told her I was moving my son to another school. She made my son feel very upset everyday. A kinder student shouldn't be put down especially by a teacher, they should be praised for at least trying. Everytime we pass by this school he remembers the bad experience he had. I'm glad I moved him from schools, his new teacher is very patient and he has learned so much.
Posted by a parent on 5/27/2016Sierra Vista has an amazing staff, teachers and Principal. Traffic has greatly improved. I am thankful to Mr Warren, parent volunteers, teachers who always ensure my kids' safety when I drop them off and pick them up. They never fail to inform me of any school events and important reminders through their telephone system. It is a great atmosphere and everyone is friendly. I highly recommend this school.
Posted by a parent on 9/17/2014I am very pleased with this school. There is always an open line of communication between parents and teachers, I am always informed about my child's progress and I can feel an overall sense of pride and ownership of the school from the staff. I was also impressed by the principal's (Mr. Warren) urgency to give back to the community of Perris and involvement with our children's development and success. He and other staff opened the Boys and Girls Club of Perris and I am very happy knowing my son has such a strong, supportive team around him to motivate him to succeed. Also, Ms. Andrews (K teacher) is awesome! She was always supportive of my son and ensuring I was aware of his progress and let me know of ways to reinforce his learning at home. Great job Sierra Vista Staff.

5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Averagemy son has been bullied and being teased the whole time of being at this school!! when at other school has never had this problem at all!!! the principle requires a pass to be seen which is in no way acceptable the students should be able to see and talk to her at any time!!! the student that bullied my son last year moved and that was the only reason why the problem was resolved and teachers are rude to the students!!!! they lie about the student to teacher ratio....my sons class has 32 students to 1 teacher!!! look in to this school before you start your children here if you can avoid this school district then please do the playgrounds are going bad and have not been fixed and may not ever be!! there waiting for a child to get hurt before they even care about our children!!! but if you want issues of teachers not listening and would like to constantly hear "kids will be kids" when your child gets into a fight or is hurt and the nurse don't call you until its hours passed...or would like your child bullied and teased and it not being taken care of then by all means have them go here!but if you truly care and love your kids then keep them OUT OF THIS SCHOOL DISTRICT!!!!Parent Review6y ago - Avalon Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy kids attend Sky View Elementary School and our experience here has been great. I say, We because at the end of the day, it’s not only for our students but as well as the parents involvement with the staff/teachers. The teachers my sons have had, have always kept an open door communication with us. Any questions or concerns of ours have always been solved or if needed redirected to the appropriate staff. I cannot express the gratitude I have towards their current Principal, Mrs Chrest. Her attentiveness with all of the students and hands-on approach with all of her staff is felt immediately. She is exactly what Sky View needs as our Principal.Parent Review1y ago - Living Water Christian Academy
