Read what parents are saying about Paramount High SchoolGreat school to prepare you for college. I transferred to the high school from another district and found Paramount more advanced. By the time I went to college I was better informed and equipped to deal with college learning.I'm so glad my parents moved and I was forced to transfer to Paramount.
Posted by a student on 10/28/2018This school is great I've been going there over the summer and looks great! They have new building such as the field house where they have class rooms, trophy hall, equipment room, locker rooms, band room, wrestling room, and a weight room! They also have the new C.T.E. building where they have the medical class room the technology room and it think the engineering class rooms. This school is great many people underestimate it but when they go in they see great things!
Posted by a community member on 7/30/2014My school has a great team of sports enthusiasts, consisting of students, teachers, coaches, and parents. The comraderie is infectious and has had the greatest impact on the performance of all involved. I think everyone should know about Paramount High School sports program and the outstanding job the coaches do of leading the teams of athletes. The School's campus track is virtually new and an excellent venue for track meets and other sports. The teams work together to keep the campus unblemished. The sports program has inspired the youth in their development to strive for better and to remember sportmanship. Improvement would be to encourage more youth to join the sports program at the school, which enhances development overall.
Posted by a parent on 4/17/2014School Stadium, gymnasiums was recently upgraded, looks like a College Stadium..Most improved school as far as I'm concerned..The next thing they need to upgrade is their cafeteria food. My daughter says the tacos and salads have no taste and are dried up a does not look fresh. That would be the next thing to upgrade. Menu and cafeteria. My daughter is a Freshman so I'm not sure what the quality of teachers or principals involvement is yet...but she has been in summer school and the tutoring was very good.. so far so good.
Posted by a parent on 8/22/2013PHS has been in my family since 1977-81 when my brother attended, then I attended in 1987-91, my daughter is a graduate of 2008-12 etc... I still have children that will be attending soon. So to sum up this is a good school and would recommend to anyone. There aren't many highly rated schools, People check out the ratings, the teachers here really care for the most part, of course there is always that few teachers that might have less inititave than others , but that is anywhere you go. The people that made a bad comment are the one's that probably didn't do well and really didn't care no matter what school they attended or for the parents they weren't going to get involved anyway. So the storyline here it's great and it's getting better as the years pass. Kudos to PHS! Once a Pirate always a Pirate!!!!!

6/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI transferred my son to Baxter from Woodruff, as he was bullied and placed in a combo class there. Since attending Baxter now for his 3rd year, he has become so much more confident, and loves school again! The teachers actually take the extra time to help students in places they may be struggling in. They engage in a lot of fun activities for the whole family, welcoming you with open arms! I LOVE Baxter! Im sad that its my sons last year here!Parent Review6y ago - Abraham Lincoln School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe PUSD Virtual Academy is ran through this school. My daughter was not included in the June 2, 23 8th grade virtual academy awards due to retaliation and discrimination from the ELA teacher at the virtual academy awards. She held hate againt my daughter just because I spoke that she didn't handle emails and call request for a parent conference, basically ignored everyhing, plus this virtual academy didn't provide a science teacher for most of the school year and was still asking for students to take the CAT test. I declined for my daughter to test on a subject she did not receive classes for. The ELA teacher, who only had 7 ELA students in her class, had no right to exclude my daughter from receiving her academic awards on June 2nd, but for hate, retaliation and discrimination, she purposely didn't print my daughters awards for the A's she received in Science, Social Studies and Math. Unfortunately, the director of this school Robin Padget saw no wrong doing and actually protected this bad teacher, saying she did nothing wrong. Shame on her for supporting this evil act on her behalf. Even more shame on the ELA teacher, for even calling herself a teacher. Retaliation belongs on the minds of a gang member, and unfortunately this teacher brings this mentality to this school. Very sickening individuals.Parent Review4mo ago - Theodore Roosevelt

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI am very happy with my experience my children have had. PUSD does a good job when it comes to their curriculum and motivating kids to do their best. Ms. Hennessy, Mr. Maldonado, Ms. Harsh (now Ms. Mora), Ms Garrett, and all the staff thank you for all you do.Parent Review5y ago - Carpenter Elementary School
