St John's Lutheran School

We sent both of our children to Holy Family and would recommend this school to anyone. The teachers, staff, and administration work together to create a loving, faith-filled, and academically challenging environment in which our children thrived. The smaller class sizes help support the needs of the students, whether they need academic assistance or rigor to prepare them for the future. Teachers and staff create an effective balance between curriculum and the social emotional needs of the student body. There are so many fun activities and traditions that bring the everyone together. We have been blessed to have been part of the HFCS community and look forward to seeing how its legacy will continue for many years to come.

St. John's is an outstanding school for those seeking a quality education for their children in an environment that is built around Biblical values. We have two very different kids enrolled there, and the school has been wonderful for both of them. I've found the teachers to be caring, supportive, and responsive for student and parent alike. The principal, Dr. Hollatz, is a strong leader and as hard working an administrator as you'll find anywhere. I'll never forget how hard he worked to keep the place running during the COVID period. The school features a beautiful campus that they're constantly investing in, and best of all, very high levels of parental involvement -- which anyone will tell you is a major marker for student success. The only drawback might be the lack of resources for special needs students. But all in all, I highly recommend St. John's.

As a parent, I believe in partnering with educators — but my experience with Little Scholars Academy left me shocked and disappointed.A simple issue with my child’s clothing led to vague replies and no accountability. When I calmly asked for clarity, I was told to “trust the process,” then warned that my child could be disenrolled if I was ever “disrespectful” — despite always remaining polite. After deciding to withdraw, the school stopped responding to our questions. Then, during drop-off, a staff member blocked the door and demanded a withdrawal date in front of other families, while my child cried. I had to practically beg for my child to be allowed into class. We were also pressured to switch to a specific diaper brand — even though we already had a suitable one — adding to the sense that compliance was valued more than cooperation. The Director, who was never present, defended staff without question. No apology. No accountability. Just silence or pressure. This is not the environment I would expect from a school entrusted with children’s care. Parents should never be intimidated for respectfully speaking up. I hope this review helps others make an informed decision.
