Read what parents are saying about Sinaloa Middle SchoolJason Eckl got fired recently for taking photos of girls (students at the school). Horrible place.
Posted by a parent on 3/10/2023We had such high hopes for this school. Our child, who has always loved school, looked forward to going here. It was a horrendous experience. The school is a mess. Students are not engaged. Teachers seem unhappy. Bullying is out of control. The parent engagement is dismal and the electives are virtually nonexistent if your kid isn’t in band. Best decision we ever made was to pull our kid out of this school.
Posted by a parent on 7/5/2022This school has significantly declined in safety and culture in the last 4 years. Some people might say this has been going on for more than that amount of time but I only had kids attending there for the last 4. I think a lot of the troubles have to do with funding and the fact that they just simply don’t have enough staff. But there is also a problem with lack of consequences and follow through with procedure. The restorative justice program that the district has is amazing. However it seems like the entire district is afraid to follow through with any natural consequences for fear that they will be sued. The teachers and staff seem incredibly stressed and frustrated. I’m not sure exactly what’s going on but the result is that students lack boundaries and class disruptions prevent regular kids from enjoying any of the minuscule leftover perks of being at school. It’s been such a disappointment because there are a lot of great families who have students there and the teachers are also amazing people.

Posted by a community member on 11/20/2018My child is thriving at Sinaloa. Students have access to incredible resources, including excellent teachers and advanced programs. There are also many extracurriculars offered.

7/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageFor such a wealthy county, I was extremely disappointed and sad at our time at PV. NUSD lacks appropriate resources that should be offered to our children. The current principal is quite inappropriate with how he dresses around young children which made many parents uncomfortable and left some kids confused. His communication was very poor once an issue around my child was brought to his attention. I felt ignored and not supported. We were told that in order for any child to get any help, they have to be two grade levels behind. Once asked to assess our child, the school failed to meet deadlines and are completely out of compliance regarding assessment timelines. Once a parent requests an assessment the school has 60 days to assess and hold a meeting. This process took over 6 months despite multiple emails requesting progress updates. They claim to be all about diversity but our experience seemed quite the opposite. The teachers have so many students and the classes are so full they don’t have time to really get to learn about your child as an individual. My child would come home crying most days and would never want to go to school. When I asked the teacher and the school to help, they only denied any issues and said there were no issues.Parent Review6mo ago - Rancho Elementary School

8/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy child has been so engaged and always felt safe with the teachers and staff. He came in shy and has flourished into a social butterfly. The parents are so involved in the school via the PTA. We have met so many great families along the way. I am excited for my second child to start as we have had nothing but a great experience.Parent Review9mo ago - Nova Education Center

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThe teachers in this school are very professional and the students are very friendly. Neither of our two children's mother tongue is English, but after a year here they all got A grades in all their subjects. MCA is not large,so the principal, teachers and parents can get together, just like a big family!Parent Review2y ago
