Our Lady of Malibu School (OLM) has been an incredibly nurturing, caring, safe, and fostering educational and social environment for our daughter, ever since she started at OLM as a Kindergarten student, last school year- which was her first time going to school. We absolutely treasure our very special little OLM community of students, teachers, staff, and parents and we know how very fortunate we are to be an integral part of such a community. We're so very thankful, each and every day, to know that our daughter is thriving so well and is so, so very happy at OLM. OLM is such a gem, where all the teachers and staff know all of the students, and vice-versa, and they all interact together and take care of each other, so, so well. OLM's learning environment is unmatched- from its very small class sizes to its extremely high level of academics, sports, and other activities, not to mention all the incredible teachers- who're the best at what they do, and of course the loving staff.

We moved to this school as COVID refugees from Webster Elementary across the street, and we are now staying at OLM because the OLM academics are stronger. My 2nd grader advanced one grade level in reading in just two months because OLM teaches phonics instead of outsourcing literacy to computer games like Lexia. The STEM is amazing. My 3rd grader is doing fractions- something my older child didn’t study until later grades at Webster. My 6th grader is taking advanced math taught by a retired aerospace engineer- the class is in lockstep with the advanced 7/8 math at MMS. The middle school science program is a breath of fresh air for this scientist-parent. My 6th grader’s science class is learning about the function of cell organelles and using microscopes- the school doesn’t dumb science down. OLM has Mandarin, French, Spanish, Music, and Robotics/Tech starting in Kindergarten. Chromebooks are never used as a digital babysitter by the OLM teachers. During non-COVID times, the children can learn violin starting in Kindergarten. One final difference my kids really like is that OLM kids get to play real dodgeball, baseball, and tag, whereas these normal childhood games were inexplicably banned at Webster even before COVID! The cons- I have one clarinet player and OLM doesn't do woodwinds. The hot lunch is super expensive but my kids love it. OLM doesn't have much greenspace or a large play structure. Uniforms are cute but we are always running out of the PE clothes.

Overall it's an overpriced Catholic School and you can get a better education elsewhere..

Both my kids went to this school from K through 8th grade. We had a wonderful experience there. The teachers were kind and nurturing and treated the kids as individuals, accepting all their differences and quirks and channeling them in positive ways. Both my kids say they have very happy memories at OLM, and remember it as a small safe and kind school. My eldest is now in high school, and felt well prepared academically.

I cannot recommend the school. We experienced bullying and racism and could not find support with the administration or the principal. Teachers came to us privately and expressed knowledge of what was going on but felt they were unable to do anything about it due to the administration and politics within the school. We left the school mid year and did not receive a refund.
