Posted by a parent on 9/26/2016Im not sure who Mr. Proctor or Ms. Arnold are, but they have not been in administration at Weigand for over 5 years. My kids are in the dual immersion program and it is amazing. The staff is friendly, and always ready to address my concerns. This school has shown much improvement over the years. Hats off to the teachers at Weigand who really care.
Posted by a parent on 5/20/2010While in this community I have seen many good things happen. Many events whether cultural and religious were celebrated and the results were positive. Weigand Avenue had a connection with the community and had shown progress throughout various administrations. Mr. Proctor and Ms. Arnold helped the school improve throughout their tenure. When Mr. Adalberto Vega entered the disconnect began and the scores decreased. His unprofessionalism was shocking as he would get into arguments with teachers on the yard - WITH CHILDREN WATCHING!!! When dealing with parents he . talked down to them. During an interaction I had with him he completely ignored me as he was looking everywhere but at me; he even talked on his walkie-talkie. Thank goodness he left. I believe he went to another school call Russel Elementary. Today the school is doing much better and has shown improvement in their test scores.

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is our second year as a San Miguel family member. I currently have a child in 2nd grade and one in TK. San Miguel is a great school and parish community. It was a blessing to find this school for my children. The staff is the best and the teachers are "credentialed", which isn't a requirement by private schools like it is in public schools. The teachers have gone to UCLA, Loyola, Norte Dame, etc.,. It takes a tribe, and everyone there understands that. They have an incredibly positive influence on my children and other families. They are attentive to our needs and concerns. I appreciate that the teachers have made themselves part of our families and I am in daily connection with them in person, which make it easy to keep my children on track. I continue to be impressed with their open minded, creative solutions to improve education techniques & experiences for our young generation. Both my children have excelled academically, socially, physically and emotionally. A Catholic education is one of the best gifts we could give our children, and the benefits they receive by way of building moral character, forming of lasting friendships and faith formation make it worth every penny. When you value forming solid virtues, meaningful friendships, and a more than exceptional academic capability in your children...send them to school here! My only regret was not enrolling my daughter from TK. The TK teacher, Ms. Annette is awesome!Parent Review8y ago
