I chose Saturn due to the arts program that they have. A few parents had suggested it to me because they loved the principal. Unfortunately, when my child attended Saturn, a new principal had been placed. This is my child second year and I must say that her Kindergarten teacher and 1st grade teacher are amazing. Now the administration at this school is extremely disappointing. I truly feel that the principal is all about stats and looking good on paper. When a situation was presented to him, he was shallot about it and didn’t handle the situation well or at all. If I could rate this school based on administration alone, it would be a ZERO. Hoping to transfer my child soon.

Our son enrolled in ETK and is now in Kindergarten in the Arts and Media magnet program. We have loved the teachers and he is very happy there. Now that everything is remote learning on Zoom, I'm even more impressed with his kindergarten teacher. I never thought my 5 year old would be excited to get on Zoom for class but he loves it! There is a new principal, the campus is getting updated with a new park in the playground. The parent-teacher group has been really welcoming and friendly. My only complaint is because of COVID we can't be on campus.

No comment about this school. It is just that average.

My child does not attend Saturn but I attended a meeting at a local parent's house where the Principal, some faculty and staff attended along with about twenty parents. It was a terrific meeting of local families. The truth is there are a lot of neighbors who are not opting for Saturn and many of them have not even taken a tour! There are field trips for students, technology and more to the point faculty who are passionate about educating the students. If you live in the neighborhood and have a child with Kinder around the corner. Come take a tour of Saturn before you jump on the fancy private or groovy charter/magnet you hear SO much about. Yes it is tempting but the beauty of walking to your neighborhood school with caring staff is worth a lot more ...than you might think.

My son is a special education student and attended Saturn K-3rd grade. He was left behind academically and the teachers and principal were physically unable to help less than they did. This school has a few dedicated teachers that truely do care about the students education. But they are few and between. If you can get your child into a magnet, please do all you can to get a transfer. We wasted years of ours sons formative childhood here. And that was squandered and forgotten among all of the problematic and poverty stricken students here. Please do your research and help your children succeed by discovering other local schools available in the neighborhood.
