KIPP Iluminar Academy

We’ve had a great experience at Hamasaki! The teachers are caring and the staff is supportive. The school is welcoming and really focused on helping kids grow. The school does a lot to make learning fun and maintaining academic levels high. We’ve had 4 of our kids go there. We definitely recommend.

I like this school a lot I think they do a good job of working with their students. Now on the other hand the current p.e teacher for middle school is incredibly biased and rude. He puts on a different face when another staff walks by and it's annoying. He doesn't hide his favorites and doesn't hide the fact that he likes the male students over any female student. He also comments on the size of body some students have whether they're "too thin" or "need to lose a few" it's disgusting knowing a grown man is watching you 24/7 and has in his head what he thinks your size is and if it's good or not. If he weren't apart of the school I'd say it's great but because of him middle school felt awful. The 6th grade teachers are also not good. One especially is rude and lives to make fun of her students. If anything embarrassing happens in one class that teacher will open the door and tell the other teacher and they laugh about it for a good 3 minutes, but they do give out candy. Glad I don't attend anymore.

This school needs to be better I recommend it having more safe rules, less strict, and not ruthless, this school is very brutal, it needs to have more nicer people, and more special events, because it makes me feel scared and nervous, also my learning experience is very bad, every day at school I always struggle and don't what to do i'm like being board in a pointless place, and plus a lot of bullying to me, a lot of yelling and arguing like those students make me embarrassed as if I don't belong to this school anymore, they make me vulnerable everyday, this school is just non sense, I don't even think my learning experience will help me succeed in life but will also make me not prevail in college making me less capable of learning, please make this school better next time.

My child attended Kipp Sol from 2019-2023, prior to Kipp Sol my child had great school experiences, Kipp Sol changed everything. My child experienced bullying from kids and adults. There was a lot of favoritism by admin and other staff members. Since this experience at Kipp Sol my child has never been the same, struggles to go to school due to anxiety and depression. I knew at the time it was bad but now after reading the reviews I see just how horrible it really was and for a child that should feel safe and protected by teachers, admin, and staff, and didn't safe and/or protected is a shame. I would not recommend this school to anyone.

I have had positive experiences with this school's staff and teachers. They provide a well rounded education including arts, music and PE. I would recommend this school because it is safe and small. My son's teachers have been great and he is even getting pushed to learn higher grade materials
