My student has been at GCS for eight years now, our experience has been a very positive one. Teachers and administrators are accessible, open to parent and student input. Parent engagement is great. Dance program is wonderful.

I attended Gabriella Charter School from 4th to 8th grade and I truly don't think l would be where I am today without the help and support of GCS. I think about my educational journey as a domino effect where one thing effects the next. GCS was the first domino. Before GCS, I attended my local public elementary school where only my teacher knew my name. At GCS everyone knew my name from my teacher to the office staff to the principal. GCS really felt like a community where everyone cared about my education. I think that the sense of community can be attributed to the small classroom sizes. During my time at GCS , I grew out of my shell and I think a huge part of that was thanks to dance. I found my creative outlet and that impacted my confidence. I suddenly began to feel more comfortable speaking up in the class. I appreciate that GCS cared about my education beyond my time at GCS. One example that comes to mind is the annual high school fair because as a 6th grader, watching the 7th and 8th graders apply to high schools seemed like such a grown up thing. Without GCS I wouldn't have found my love for dance and for education. I see how GCS and it's core values has changed the lives for many students including my younger sister and I and that has inspired me to study education policies and the education system as a whole through a sociological lense. My family and I are immensely thankful to Ms. Liza and all the staff members at GCS for providing me a great education and for their endless support.

I am an alum who attended GCS from 1st-8th grade. Speaking from first hand experience, this tight-knit community here has been nothing but welcoming and wanting the best for each and every one of their students. I grew up with teachers and staff who showed me kindness and taught me the true power of education. They helped me excel and even now, as a 23 year old, they always check in with my parents and I to see how I am doing. I even went back to GCS to work for a few years, and the environment was just as enlivening as I remembered. From the school community, to the parent engagement, to the excellent arts and dance program, this is a school I can not recommend enough!

My daughter started at GCS since 4th grade. She is now in 8th grade and I don't think there could've been a better option during the remote learning. I appreciate how GCS worked its way through the pandemic and remote learning. All staff worked together to support families and students through times that demanded technology and internet. Staff was creative in finding the right way to help all families connect. The communication is always clearly posted in our parent accounts. GCS also provided resource bags to students. These resource bags provided writing tools, math manipulatives, and books. This supported my daughter in her learning at home. Teachers would teach for more than 4 hours online and provided a very structured platform with real assignments to keep my daughter learning and busy. My daughter kept taking GCS dance classes during the pandemic too! The support wasn't only academic, but meals were also provided during remote learning. My daughter is now back in school and it's been an interesting transition for all of us, but GCS is trying their best to get students back on track with safety. They've been providing bus passes too! There's been campaigns at the school to support student behavior and campus beautification. The custodial staff is so dedicated, but their work is tough and it became a little more heavy when there were a couple of social media trends that targeted school restrooms. GCS administrators went to classrooms and spoke to students and the school posted information for parents- it was all to work with everyone involved. Investigated who and why this was done and started out a campaign for campus beautification and cleanliness and also there was more attention to prevent social media behavior trends.

Horrible middle school experience, my child had many social issues and the administrators are horrible they just sweep the issues under the rug and move on as if nothing happen. I followed the chain of command but nothing happened, they just ignored me and my problems I had to remove my son from in-person to online, and the next year we're going elsewhere. Admit also, doesn't communicate between themselves they call and ask for things they have on file. Truly regret sending my son to this school.
