Posted by a parent on 8/8/2022This school has improved a lot and will keep on improving. Parent should be more active, I know I'm always there - there PTA is so sad but there doing there best, they need more parents to be involved. The Teachers are great- and the rest of the staff . Everyone has one goal and that is to make this school a #10.
Posted by a parent on 9/9/2013I have a granddaughter in this school and I have to say there is much improvement needed. I have always been an involved parent and so is my husand and my mother. We have been yelled at, lied to, uninformed and when I wrote 2 letters to the principal and left a voice mail, I did not get ANY feed back. My granddaughter was out of school for 2 days and I was threatened with truancy.... not informed, threatened. Last year prior to the open of school, I couldnt even find out what day school started!! they called me the monday of the starting week. If we expect our children to be prepared, plan and communicate, then it must be shown by example.
Posted by a parent on 5/27/2013My son goes to this school currently. I know the staff is very involved and are working hard to improve the whole moral of the school. I have to disagree with the comment made about the principal. I am a total different race than he is and my son also experienced bullying. i have to say that the issue was addressed and measures were taken. I think sometimes we forget that the staff has state rules and regulations that leave their hands tied. There is no doubt that they are struggling with getting extra curricular activities started. It has to do with the parent involvement. If you are able get involved.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe're happy with this school. So far, our experience has been great with the teachers, school principals, school admin & students. No bullying that we as parents or my kids have encountered. They did an amazing job during the Distance Learning & has been working hard to keep our kids safe right now in welcoming them back at school for in-person learning.Parent Review2y ago - Cherryland Elementary School

2/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageI did not go to this school, but my little sister does. This year they have had at-home schooling because of COVID19. The things I have heard from my sisters teacher are truly appalling. I had a Teachers-conference with Ms.Azania (the teacher) explaining to her that my sister appears to be at first grade level, and she is in fourth grade. Her response was, she won't hold any children back, because "she doesn't want them to feel depressed." Don't you think, when these students are seniors and they have to take a freshman math class, they won't feel depressed? On another instance, I have heard this teacher bringing politics into the classroom various times. To nine and ten year olds. What place does a nine year old have saying, "The insurrection of the capital was a terrorist attack!" and having the teacher say, "Wow! Thats great!" Since when do we teach politics to children? And teach them that there are more than two genders? Or teach and explain to them what suicide is? Instead of focusing on basic skills like English, Math, Reading, the teachers would rather bring politics into the school and teach the children about race, and inequality. How will you ever expect these kids to succeed if a ten year old is being taught, "orange man bad" instead of "8x7"? I even called the principal and he was not much help. Told me, I could not meet with the teacher, only the parents could call a meeting. I will not be sending any of my children to this school and I suggest you do the same.Parent Review3y ago - Ruus Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Average10 out of 10. This is the 3rd elementary school kids have attended and even though test scores may not be as high as the schools the children attended in a neighboring district, the kids are HAPPY here. They feel loved, accepted and welcomed by the entire community. Hats off to this school, its teachers, staff and administrators!Parent Review4y ago - Strobridge Elementary School

3/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Average((BE AWARE)) THEY ALLOW BULLYING AT ALL COST OF YOUR CHILD!!!My child has been getting bullied for 3 months straight. I made for then 50+ complaints and absolutely NOTHING has been resolved. Student hasn’t even had their recess taken away after physically and verbally bullying my child and looking under the bathroom 2 times why my child used the restroom. (Sexual harassment) I’ve filed an actual bully complaint (nothing). Principal has made more excuses of why this kid is basically getting away with EVERYTHING! I feel like also has to do with RACE as the “bully” is of a more privileged race as of my child is not. The district need to do a major investigation on this type of stuff and who they give the privilege to run an elementary school. Yes, I have also filed a complaint to the district and have heard nothing with a response date of 3/18/22Parent Review2y ago - Alameda County Community
