Read what parents are saying about Cherryland Elementary SchoolI did not go to this school, but my little sister does. This year they have had at-home schooling because of COVID19. The things I have heard from my sisters teacher are truly appalling. I had a Teachers-conference with Ms.Azania (the teacher) explaining to her that my sister appears to be at first grade level, and she is in fourth grade. Her response was, she won't hold any children back, because "she doesn't want them to feel depressed." Don't you think, when these students are seniors and they have to take a freshman math class, they won't feel depressed? On another instance, I have heard this teacher bringing politics into the classroom various times. To nine and ten year olds. What place does a nine year old have saying, "The insurrection of the capital was a terrorist attack!" and having the teacher say, "Wow! Thats great!" Since when do we teach politics to children? And teach them that there are more than two genders? Or teach and explain to them what suicide is? Instead of focusing on basic skills like English, Math, Reading, the teachers would rather bring politics into the school and teach the children about race, and inequality. How will you ever expect these kids to succeed if a ten year old is being taught, "orange man bad" instead of "8x7"? I even called the principal and he was not much help. Told me, I could not meet with the teacher, only the parents could call a meeting. I will not be sending any of my children to this school and I suggest you do the same.

Posted by a community member on 3/20/2015I went to this school since I was 4 the staff is nice the teachers are to it all depends on the generation. I wnt to a class thet taught in English and spanish it was a bilingual and English class. I am a former student.
Posted by a community member on 9/27/2014The longer my child goes here, the worst this school is.The staff is rude.Having the separate classes between english and spanish is appalling. Then children get in trouble for not wanting to play together. They are teaching racism all over again. It is truly disgusting.
Posted by a parent on 6/11/2014the office staff are extremly rude!! They could care less about the students, and the parents if they have any concerns. They are unprofessional, and for them to be in this particular field, it is ridiculous! There are many more passionate people out there that would love to have their jobs. And take the time to listen, and care for each person that walks in that office.

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageWe're happy with this school. So far, our experience has been great with the teachers, school principals, school admin & students. No bullying that we as parents or my kids have encountered. They did an amazing job during the Distance Learning & has been working hard to keep our kids safe right now in welcoming them back at school for in-person learning.Parent Review2y ago - Harder Elementary School

4/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating Average10 out of 10. This is the 3rd elementary school kids have attended and even though test scores may not be as high as the schools the children attended in a neighboring district, the kids are HAPPY here. They feel loved, accepted and welcomed by the entire community. Hats off to this school, its teachers, staff and administrators!Parent Review4y ago - Strobridge Elementary School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageMy children attended All Saints, beginning in 4th and 6th grade. Before that, we attended East Avenue Elementary School. There was nothing wrong with public school, but we wanted more for our children as they grew into young adults. Each family views and values education differently, and in our case- my father instilled in me that “education is something that no one can take away from you.” Therefore, we value a holistic and realistic education that provides many opportunities. How children perform and function in school is the sum of familial values and school environment. All Saints Catholic School complemented our familial values based on the following:1. Spiritual, religious, and moral compass: Opportunities to develop faith formation simultaneously with the curriculum. Opportunities for us as a family to discuss current world events in a particular context and offer positive coping skills.2. Academic rigor: Low classroom counts, better teacher-to-parent relationships, opportunities for science camps and science fairs.3. School/parent environment/ sports: The administration is dedicated to the learning and safety of the children. When public schools were still distance learning, this institution had protocols for early in-classroom teaching (a lifesaver for me as I was on the frontlines in the ICU). Social events that are both wholesome, fun, and spiritual- Fiesta, Crab Feed, Fun Run, school dances, etc. They have a well-established CYO program with dedicated and league/diocese-winning coaches.4. Kids Klub: after-school caregiving for those who require extended care.5. Robust choir/ music program with a dedicated choir/ music director.6. Safety of the campusMy child is nearing graduating from All Saints and will soon transition to high school. My eldest was offered a generous scholarship at a prestigious private high school in Oakland but chose to attend a distinguished private high school in Hayward. Both were blessings and opportunities that I believe would not have been available to us if we had not chosen All Saints Catholic School. Many of our fondest memories originate with activities and events sponsored by All Saints and the Oakland Diocese. I highly recommend All Saints Catholic School- and if you’d like to know more— find out yourself!Parent Review4w ago - A Shepherd's Heart Christian School
