My daughter was emotionally abused by one of the first grade teachers at this school. Instead of addressing the problem the principal has chosen to ignore it and me. Ive been told by other students that this teacher is known for being very mean. It's unfortunate that the students such as my child have to endure such treatment.

YRCS offers the fundamentals of a traditional Waldorf education as a Public Charter School. We couldn't be more pleased with how our child has been held, supported, encouraged, and educated in a method that would usually be at a private school cost. We love not only the community, but the way the school incorporates aspects of the changing of the seasons, with Harvest Festival, Winter Fair, and the May Day Celebrations. The curriculum encourages kids to be kids and builds a strong foundation through not only the fundamentals of learning, but also creativity and curiosity, incorporating music, plays, nature, and crafting. We love this school, and the wait list is an indicator of the high demand in this community for such a scholastic opportunity.

So many fights happen here and teachers and the principal does not do anything about it and they tell half the story this is horrible. DO NOT PUT YOU KIDS HERE FOR YOUR SAFETY PLEASE.

We are very happy with our experience at Grass Valley Charter. The community is wonderful and we love the staff and families here. I'm a big fan of the expeditionary learning model that gets them out of the classroom doing some really amazing things. Our kids are thriving and we highly recommend it.

I have received so much support from Scotten school, My son has an IEP and the staff has really worked with us and have been willing to accommodate my familys needs and have been open minded and caring in the process. I have had a unique situation and I felt we have became a team in support of my son. My son is very happy at school and feels excited to tell me about the new things he learns and he is fully integrated with his peers and is learning at his pace with positive encouragement from the entire staff. Classrooms can only cover so much and I feel that working with my son in the evening on the lessons he brings home from that day help me understand what they are doing at school currently . It bridges the gap for me and I find it helpful to review the lesson before doing our homework. I am very pleased

Let me spill the tea about Mt. St. Mary School because, honestly, this place has been nothing short of a drama show. If you’re a working parent, prepare to ditch your career because you’ll be doing the pickup shuffle for the most ridiculous reasons. I mean, seriously? My kid got sent home for what felt like the most petty stuff! It’s like they think we have nothing better to do than run back and forth to the school.And speaking of back and forth, let’s talk about communication. Good luck getting any real support; it’s more like a judging contest every time you walk through the door. Instead of finding allies in the teachers, I often felt like I was stepping into a reality show where everyone else was the judge and jury. A little warmth wouldn’t hurt, ladies!Now, on to the building itself. It’s a serious fixer-upper! The air conditioning? Barely a whisper of cool air when summer hits, and I swear parts of the structure look like they could use some serious TLC. I’m half-expecting a safety inspector to show up any day now and declare “condemned!”All in all, if you're looking for a nurturing environment for your child, you might want to keep scrolling. This place has potential but desperately needs a makeover in both the administration’s approach and the physical facilities. I wish I didn’t have to say all this; I really wanted to love this school!
