Read what parents are saying about Isla Vista Elementary SchoolTransitional kindergarten and kindergarten teachers are fabulous. My kid absolutely loved Mrs Sparre from TK and Mrs. Takahara from kindergarten; they're just both really smart and intuitive, and present strong and transparent behavioral expectations.

Posted by a parent on 11/6/2020The experience of sending my daughters to this school has been amazing. The principal and staff of IVES are completely dedicated and involved in the kids learning process. It was hard for my kids to leave this school when we moved from California but the qualities and lessons they have learned from this school is worth appreciating.forever grateful to this school as a parent.
Posted by a parent on 1/30/2018My son has a great experience in this school. It has incredible leadership, infrastructure, and teachers. My son and I think IV elementary school is the best school in Goleta.
Posted by a parent on 5/27/2017Isla Vista is a blessing in disguise. My child is in kindergarten and has enjoyed her experience since day 1. As a parent volunteer, I've been able to witness what happens during the day and interact with the students. We have a great team of teachers that truly enjoy what they do.

I can't work from home, so zoom school wasn't an option for us. We started with MCS for that reason (one of the few, if not only, schools offering in-person instruction and childcare). But we have stayed for elementary school because our experience was so wonderful. Not only are the teachers at MCS warm, caring, and nurturing, but they are incredibly communicative (as is the leadership/administration). If I have a question or concern, it is responded to almost immediately. Everything is very well organized and I can focus on work each day knowing that my son is happy, surrounded by friends, and growing in a nurturing environment.MCS has fostered my son's learning and confidence. He regularly works in class with children from other grades and has developed wonderful friendships across the ages. Assignments, homework, and projects are appropriately challenging. It's been awesome watching him grow and develop in this environment. I am not sure what we will do after sixth grade -- I just wish MCS continued through grade 12! - but this certainly is an incredible place for us now.Parent Review1y ago - Montessori Center School

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageChoosing Montessori Center School four our girls has been the best decision we have made as parents, hands down. The teachers are truly gifted in their ability to nurture, engage and inspire children. They have been an invaluable sounding board and support system for our family throughout the years. Our children are cared for as whole children, with individual needs academically, socially and emotionally... There is no greater gift! At ages three and six years old, our girls are curious learners, independent and self assured, all qualities that have been fostered at Montessori Center School. We are forever grateful!Parent Review1y ago - The Waldorf School of Santa Barbara

N/AGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageBoth of my daughters attend South Coast Montessori, they feel at home here. They have very close bonds with their teachers and they continue to guide them to become independent and kind human beings. They love coming to school every day and I feel comfortable and happy to know that they are in a place where their needs are being met and where they are seen as unique and capable human beings. I love the friendships they have made and I am sure they will continue to thrive here.Parent Review4mo ago - South Coast Montessori
