It is our responsibility as a parent to teach our children to distinguish sounds around us. This will help a child develop resilience and help them distinguish the difference between emergency and non-emergency situations. The guidance associated with good parenting and teaching can be modeled by one of the six pillars of Character Counts: Trustworthiness. Children place trust in their partners and teachers to guide them.
