The school is unorganized. My child is in kinder and I honestly fear for her safety. The first few weeks I understand are rough. But months into the school year and it is still bad. Half the time the teacher doesn't even know where my child is. Ms. Spikes has horrible communication skills when it comes to talking with actual adults. I pray her communication with the kids is better. I've volunteered on a field trip and taken time to volunteer in the classroom and was so disappointed. There is no one on one attention to the kids. The parking here is horrible to. I do not have one good thing to say about this school. If you can go to another elementary school please do.

A grade of 10 ! Excellent ! A school that truly cares and listens to your concerns. They try to come up with effective solutions

My recent experience at McKinley Elementary School has left me with a strong sense of concern. In a letter to Principal Marilu Cano, I detailed a frustrating situation regarding the school's lunch delivery policy. I explained that I dropped off lunch for my daughter at 10:00 a.m., but she never received it and went without a meal.The school's procedure, as explained by the secretary, required me to contact my daughter's teacher on Parent Square for lunch delivery. However, I was unable to reach the teacher, leaving my child hungry. This experience has led me to feel that the system is unreliable and that a child's well-being should not be compromised due to procedural issues. I was disappointed by the school's response, which I felt was a generic message about last year's system, and this has left me with a negative impression of the school's handling of the situation.

I would not send my grandchildren to any other school. The staff at Polk is kind, helpful and always there for you as a parent, grandparent or child. FIVE STARS FOR YOU POLK!!!

This school may appear nice and family friendly, though my daughter has faced none of this. A boy hit her in the face with a rock, after attempting to hit her several times. After she told an adult, the adult sided with the boy, and didn’t even contact me. The boy broke her glasses ($170) and left a faint scratch to the face. When I contacted the teacher in charge she went on to say there was no punishment nor out time she could give the boy. The following year she got stung by a bee. The nurse kept her in the office for an hour, with her only request to call her mom. Which the nurse didn’t contact me at all, instead blamed her “work stress” on it. While my daughter was crying her eyes out, that woman paid no thought to her whatsoever. I hope anyone reading this takes it in with an open mind, and also look at other schools around the area.Now that my daughter graduated 2 years ago, I thought I could finally share her story without embarrassing her. I have never heard a word of her doing poorly, or making wrong decisions at her current school. Do better Harvest

In my opinion this school is one of the most WOKE schools in Fresno Unified. I see in their office LBTQ… big posters. Today, October 20. As I’m picking up my 5 years old child from TK, I saw my child’s teacher wearing on her LBTQ.. shirt, and two moms in front of me were telling to this teacher that her daughters had told them that the boy are going to the little girls bathroom when the girls are in there. Is it all coincidence that the office has a big LBTQ… posters in there? and the teacher wearing on her LBTQ.. shirt? I wonder if the teacher’s T-shirt message is for the kids who are in a room with her for five hours, or if the message is for the parents? Is it coincidence that mom’s are asking the teacher why the boys are going to the girls bathroom? I strongly recommend to parents who want to protect their children’s mind and innocence to STAY AWAY FROM LAWLESSNESS ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.
