My two children have been going to Palmetto for 3 years and we absolutely love it. The principle Dr. Moyer has been a great asset to the school. Her and Mr. Cohen welcome the students in the morning with friendly hellos and compliments which starts the kids day off in a positive wat. Thw school has done a great job of involving parents in school activities such as Star night, lunch with a loved one, and family fit days.

The teachers and staff go above and beyond to help their students. With limited resources they perform miracles!

My little girl has been at Palmetto for 2 years. Her Kindergarten teacher, Ms. Rina, and her aides were amazing and her 1st grade teacher. Ms. Mendoza has been super accessible, responsive, and very willing to work with her kiddos and their families. The principal, Ms Lauri Martin, shows that she is very friendly and approachable as well. Even through COVID, we get weekly phone call recaps and reminders as to what is going at school in addition to almost daily social media posts. The kids have events just about monthly that they can take part in to make memories and make going to school a little more enjoyable. I'm also aware that this school offers free lunch daily so all children have access to a meal if needed. So far, our experience at Palmetto has been a positive one. On top of this, my little girl is autistic and nonverbal who wears her emotions on her sleeve and truly enjoys getting on that school bus (most) mornings ;-) to go to school.

My son has gone to Palmetto for 2 years now. They do Family Fit Fridays and that's about it for the kids. I heard about carnivals but they stopped that. I think they could improve on disciplinary actions. On multiple occasions, my son has lost weeks of recess for being a kid - running around, playing tag and chase - sometimes kids get hurt and its an accident ... I don't think my son should be punished in that fashion. We're taking him out of the school. I'd consider him staying there if it weren't for 2 years of this. I feel that my son is being held back in a class where the higher students aren't challenged, he's kind of just floating on. And they wonder why he doesn't pay attention. Hes bored! I hope they figure out a better way of challenging the children that are already at their trimester/yearly goals. My son shouldn't be bored in class.
