Northridge Elementary School

My son has been going to St Mel's since first grade. We've had a great experience here. He was delayed in reading, but the teaching at St Mel's caught him up and now beyond grade level and he always has his nose in a book now! He's also had a great amount of social development here. The teacher's have been very encouraging of parent engagement and they do a lot to engage and inform you.

Our family is at the finish line of sixteen years of Christian education at Saint Mark’s Lutheran school. Our daughter graduated from eighth grade in 2020, and our son will be graduating in May. Over the past decade and a half, St. Mark’s has been an instrumental force in providing both of our children with a traditionally based, fundamental academic education. St. Mark’s at its foundation emphasizes the area of building each student’s, knowledge base, and skill sets. The teachers and staff do an exemplary job in connecting one on one with the children and acknowledging them as individuals. In addition to providing a solid core of applicable skills and knowledge, St. Mark’s also does a tremendous job emphasizing physical fitness, athletic and academic competitions, the performing arts, as well as, serving the community. While our family can reference boundless positive experiences, what stands out to me most is how rigorously the entire school family worked to keep Saint Mark’s open during the Covid lockdown in 2020, and 2021. It remained one of the few schools that was had in-person learning because of the efforts care and concern for the well-being of the children is of the highest priority for St. Mark’s. Louisa Burke, I highly recommend this school to anyone who wants to give their child exposure to distinguished teachers, and accretive and accredited curriculum, and a magnificent campus.

We began at this school when my child was in third grade during COVID, and our experience has been overwhelming positive. The school provides excellent communication, ensuring parents are consistently informed and engaged. Families are encouraged to participate through volunteer commitments, which create meaningful opportunities to be involved in school activities and build connections with other parents. This school maintains high expectations for student behavior and accountability, while also celebrating academic achievements and school sports. I also appreciate the school's dress code, which promotes a neat appearance and reinforces standards that can sometimes feel lost in today's society. Overall, this school fosters a strong foundation of kindness, respect, responsibility, and self-confidence in it's students.
