We came into Maxwell as a middle school CSArts family. We were unsure of what to expect and definitely were nervous about what we would encounter. The school year is coming to an end, and I can happily say that our kids have had a fantastic year. We are grateful that the few issues that we encounter
Posted by a parent on 5/6/2026We ve had a great experience so far. My son’s been there almost a year. Teachers really care. Kids are nice. My son is in the CSARTS program and was accepted by all the neighborhood kids right away. Cindy in the front office is as good as it gets.
Posted by a parent on 3/12/2025Maxwell Academy was a traumatic experience for our family. If you’re considering having your child attend for their baccalaureate, bilingual program, look elsewhere, especially if your child is not in the student majority demographic.
Posted by a parent on 2/15/2025This school was once adequate, but that changed with a new, unqualified principal. Run from this school if you have a child with special education needs. They don’t even have anyone in charge of special education this year. It’s a mess.
Posted by a parent on 2/15/2025The principal is by far the best principal I have ever met. We have been at a few schools and Maxwell is a little gem of a school. Mandarin, Piano, Choir, and Computer Lab are just the added benefits of Maxwell elementary. My kids are very happy hear and so am I!

NAGreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageOur oldest son "graduated" from Kindergarten at School of Little Scholars. His 1st Grade teacher at the public school kept asking where he went for Kindergarten because he was more than well prepared. He was confident, able to work independently, reading above grade level and had great classroom manners. We thank School of Little Scholars for all that they have done. Our youngest son is currently at the school. Last year, he was tested as a Pre-K student as he exited speech therapy. He tested into the 90th percentile in all areas. The speech therapist was very impressed and wanted the school's information to pass on to other families. Our little guy will finish up Kindergarten here and we are know that he will have the confidence and preparation for 1st Grade that his older brother has had.
