Most of the teachers here do not teach, pay attention to the students, and only let their favorite students get away with cheating, detentions, and demerits. For any reason, days off are extended, if bishop comes in for a visit and gives a day off, school closes down. If plumbing problem takes place, school closes down for a day. 5/10GreatSchools RatingParent Rating AverageThis is my children’s third year attending Roosevelt, in my experience their Sped Teachers are much more compassionate and supportive with their students than the Gen Ed teachers. (I have children in both areas). I don’t feel that social emotional support for students is provided at this school site. I’ve expressed my concern to teachers and admin through all platforms via email in person and on paper but was still ignored until I gave district a call. But with my personal experience in ward elementary i just had to. I lived in downey for 6 years but i had to move to another area, but let me tell you about a very special teacher Mrs Rippel, my son Damian adores her and misses her dearly, when he started school he didn't know how to write his name, how to behave in class, etc but she always had patience with him and encouraged him all the time and most importantly she believed in his capacity to learn. she is the BEST TEACHER any student would love to have and any parent would trust their child with. Mrs Rippel if you see this we love you your the best hope to one day see you again keep up the amazing job your doing take care god bless you.
