Wilson Elementary School

I have recently been taking care of my grandchildren for personal reasons and I wasn't sure on the bus schedules ,so I went ahead and on assumption at what time thay would arrive , obviously I was late a few minutes, so I panicked then I called Mr. Thomas the principal and he was great absolutely wonderful they came within 10 minutes to pick up my kids they were awesome they handled the situation within minutes and the most nicest friendliest people ,I was overwhelmed I think it's great what they did and how they helped us . I am just so grateful, ththank you .Mr. Thomas and Grandview Elementary.

I'm in 6th Grade in my personal opinion I honestly think this school isn't that bad. There is now even a counselor in the school which she helps with problems and things. There more stuff to say why this school is good.

Learning: Student learning appears to be progressing at a slower pace compared to other learning curves. However, there is a noticeable effort to support students who are slightly below average—limited perspective on students struggling significantly.Teaching: Positive feedback for three out of four teachers. They effectively communicate with parents, provide guidance, and show care for students' progress. Concerns about one teacher's approach, although I acknowledge that speculation arises as I have not been directly involved in the classroom.Social-emotional support: Teachers have supported my children but witnessed other teachers have an inadequate handling of challenging students. Often, parents' negative attitudes toward staff and children impact children adversely. Staff responses sometimes mimic parents' behavior instead of providing comfort, possibly indicating some staff perceive these students as burdens.Safety: My child experienced consistent bullying throughout schooling. Instances of physical assault and harassment were addressed by parents, not school. My child had to address issues himself when matters escalated, highlighting a lack of early intervention by school staff.Family engagement: Lower ranking due to observed inconsistencies in staff response to issues, especially involving parents with problematic behavior. However, when engaged with teachers, positive experiences in addressing classroom issues.Overall, I still enjoy my children going here because I know public school is not perfect and is what you make of it. I would recommend this school solely for the great impact these few teachers have made on my children, and am grateful for the help that they have provided. My one warning to others is that there is a clear lack of empathy for the children who have unstable support from their parents, instead, there only seems to be a job to do.

Filed a few complaints with the district about this schools conduct with the students and was met with zero co operation. They hired a lawyer to try hide their mistakes they made and covered them up. It cost tax payers $7000 to protect themselves but not the students. Joe and Jesse need to go!
