Montessori School Of Corona

It is a bad school because they do not teach common core education.

My daughter has been going to MSOC for 4 years now (started in preschool) She has been taught major life skills and continues to impress me everyday with her knowledge. The teachers are very caring and really want to see the children succeed and excel in life.

My daughter attended MSOC when we 1st moved to Corona (3yr;Beginning of 2014). Her teacher was fairly young, no children-- I only mention it because it showed. She was a very dry character; not what you would expect for a pre-school teacher. Kind, but drab. Rtinely, children sit quietly while ea. studnt passes a letter around the circle, following the shape w/their finger, & saying it out-loud, while the teacher patiently sat there without a smile until some child wasn't taking their turn, then she would say their name and give instruction- without a smile or any joy in the tone of her voice. I always wondered if some heavy melancholy dwelled in her personal life. My biggest issue persuaded me to leave-- they have TERRIBLE security practices! A) The often annoyed front desk girl has more important things to be doing than paying attention to who comes or goes (e.g. "accounting.") B) The double doors they tell parents is for "extra" security is usually propped open C) During an open house type event, a child was returned to my child's classroom --"Excuse me, I found him in the parking lot" they said as they passed the young boys arm to the teacher. I REPORTED IT; THEY DID NOTHING. :(

My daughter is in preschool at MSOC, and we are so happy with it. She has been in her same class for a year now, and I am confident she will be ready for her future classes. She has three teachers and loves them all. She comes home telling us things we would never expect a three year old to know. I really like how MSOC is a diverse environment to help these kids be well rounded. We haven't yet decided on elementary education here at MSOC, but can definitely say that the preschool provides an excellent basis for future learning with your child.

The first and second grade teacher is excellent. However if you have a third or fourth grade student, look elsewhere. My child's grades went down drastically from the prior report card and we were never notified in advance of the next report card that any issues existed. My children will not be attending this school next year.
